Hi all from Melbourne, Australia
« on: June 02, 2024, 10:41:37 PM »
Hi everyone, from Melbourne, Australia.
My partner Eva and I have been collecting movie posters off and on since about '84, so about 40 years now.
Because the collection was getting to a reasonable size, and with a lot of posters stored not seeing the light of day, and because we also had been dealing posters here and there, we decided it was time to pass on some of our collection onto others.
We tend to collect more desirable titles but our interests are still pretty eclectic....but if I had to pick a favorite genre or two, it would be horror, sci-fi and super hero/anti hero/action. Our collection ranges from 1930's to current day.
One of my favorites is a 1954 Superman's Peril Australian Daybill, stone litho, that has a very iconic superman illustration, artist unknown, but the Australian Daybill has much, much better artwork for this movie than any other I've seen (image below). This one is hanging on my wall, recently had it re-framed, so get to enjoy it every day.
Anyway, I look forward to meeting/chatting with some of you.
Happy collecting and kind regards,
Sean and Eva

Very nice website!  Are you still in the process of adding stuff to it, because I don't see the Superman or Jaws posters on it?

Nice first posts (here and HA thread).

"we decided it was time to pass on some of our collection onto others."  - I am confused here, a collector looking to pass on some of his collection.... and yet, the website looks like a solid webshop, with terms and all???
Crucifixion? Good. Out of the door, line on the left, one cross each.

Welcome Sean and Eva! I just did some window shopping on your site. It's really nicely done and has some lovely looking posters on it.

Hey eatbrie, yes, I have another business also, so pretty busy atm, and site has only been live for a soft launch for a few weeks, so trying to get up new posters daily. The Jaws daybill (which is linen backed) will go up soon. The '54 Superman's Peril daybill will be staying in my personal collection though....unless of course I receive an offer that I can't refuse :-)

Hey BwanaDik, sorry for the confusion. Have been doing some light dealing over the last 10 years, with no web site, as some collectors will do. But we (my wife Eva and I) love the medium and so we decided to setup a retail website to move into the business full time. Most of the stock being sold on the site is from our personal collection atm. But I guess as time goes on, our personal collection and dealer stock will become more and more separate.

Thanks @Tob. It's brand new and a work in progress. Trying to get up more stock as quickly as we can. I'm a laptop down atm due to an SSD failure :(. But we're getting there.
