This may be one for MOPO, but do you all reckon I should do with this... As you often read from eBay sellers, this 1935 WC is in Mint* condition!
*Perfect condition except for 4" section missing from right side and ~10" combined sections from top and bottom. Seriously though, I of course realize that this WC is severely trimmed. However, from what I can tell it is probably quite rare... between eMovie, Christies and HA combined there are no reported sales for this title of anything larger than a lobby card.* I'm sure there are other early Universal Horror films without significant paper, but I was quite surprised when so little turned up during research. What would be the best course of action to protect its value? Should I leave it as is? Should I have it restored? If the later, there would clearly be some major re-creation going on... and I'm not even sure how they would know what it is supposed to look like. There are no records of PB sales, although Bruce sold a herald with a very similar photo of Heather Angel that might be used. Still, I'm not even sure how a restorer would figure out the original layout. That said, is there any *value* left to protect? Is this thing worth anything? I guess it could make an interesting set of movie themed drink coasters if nothing else...
Thoughts?
To be fair, in its trimmed state my WC is actually smaller than a lobby
