We liked Shazam, too, Zorba! You and I and Richie all know his real name is Captain Marvel from the old Fawcett comics, eh? Nice nod to his past in the school name.  Okie

King Arthur 2004.

It is nowhere near a great film but I enjoy it. I was flipping channels and there it was on Max.

Well cast flick. Actors who have gone on to do some very good work.

Sometimes you just want to have some pop corn eh?

I went to see Avengers: Endgame last night. It was a very satisfying conclusion and lots of fun. People in my showing applauded, which I've not heard before in a UK cinema.

I love that they didn't reveal everything in the trailers/promos and there were lots of big surprises and no one knew where it was going. I wish more studios would do this; the recent trailer for Pet Sematary was like an abridged version of the entire film.

I think Kevin Feige and co deserve great credit for what they have achieved from Iron Man through to Endgame. It's easy to sneer at a genre like superheros, but having a coherent strategy across 20+ films has been a great success (commercially and creatively). When I was a kid, comics/superheros were pretty niche, Marvel is now fully in the mainstream...it made me smile seeing folk of all ages and interests wearing marvel t-shirts and being genuinely excited for the film. When my kids are a little older, I'm looking forward to re-watching all the films with them.

Filmworker is another great watch, a documentary about Leon Vitali, Kubrick's assistant after playing Lord Bullingdon in Barry Lyndon. It premiered at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival on May 19 and was nominated for the L'Œil d'or, le prix du documentaire – Cannes.  It's now free on Netflix.

Ninja killer 1/6 (turk version sans Bolo/Carter Wong)

Horrendous shoddy prod (even a HK prod has better prod value than this) , poor fight scenes....only positive thing is Istanbul

It was jaw-dropping to see Vitali sacrifice the rest of his life for Kubrick, just as Emilio D'Alessandro had. D'Alessandro's book, Stanley Kubrick and Me is also an eye-opener, as is his less-detailed video, S is for Stanley, based on the book.

Out of Print (Amazon Prime) The importance of revival cinema and 35mm film exhibition as seen through the lens of patrons of the New Beverly Cinema in LA. Made me wish I lived close enough to be a regular.

Agreed! as I finally saw it.

Not perfect as I dont like the way the shoe horned certain things to set up their next phase but damn I enjoyed it.

Amazing how they pulled all that off.

They should all be very proud.
