Definitely 3D eyecandy. Lots of outdoor scenes that were an homage to Blade Runner. And more eyecandy - Scarlett..

You're not the only one. Lawl. Did you see the box office numbers?  Boss Baby's domestic numbers smashed it.  starz.gif

Yes, yes.  It is spectacular in 3D, and rad storyline.  I have not seen the earlier iterations, but I'd bet that the visuals for this one are surely on another level.   8)

Ive watched the first 2 installments of Feud: Bette and Joan on FX On Demand. I think this is one heck of a production, from all aspects. And the production values, sets, locations, music etc are all top notch. clap clap clap

I watched Episode 8 (the final installment) last night, and I have to say that this FX production was top notch, all the way, from start to finish.  thumbsup.gif

Last night I watched The Haunting of Julia (1977), also known as Full Circle, starring Mia Farrow, directed by Richard Loncraine, and based on a Peter Straub book.  Beautifully shot, this subtle yet powerful movie offers a great central performance by Farrow as a woman who has lost her only child and may be haunted by the spirit of another one (unless it all happens in her head as she slowly unravels).  Awesome autumnal photography and an appropriately haunting score combine to create a unique melancholy mood that permeates every frame.  I hadn't seen this one since I caught it in Paris under the title Le Cercle Infernal when I was a kid growing up there in 1980s, as it's been unavailable on DVD or Blu-Ray (hopefully this will change sooner or later), and I had been curious to re-visit it as an adult.  I have to say it holds up pretty well and deserves greater recognition, as it's a really well-executed modern ghost story.  Highly recommended.

Sounds like quite a feud between those two ladies.

Looks like a good show.  Here's a quick, no spoilers review:

Last night... late night viewing, after enjoying some Cinco de Mayo fun.

Now, Voyager (1942), with B. Davis, Paul Henreid and Claude Rains.

Just a great flick, all the way around. Bette Davis is at the top of her game in this one, imho.  notworthy.gif

I don't own this, unfortunately, Benjamin. Many of us will place a poster image in this particular thread, just to show an example for the movie we've recently seen.

I certainly wouldn't mind owning a copy, though. I really like Martinati's style.  bed1

Age 81, and Sophia Loren is the face of this perfume. This is quite the commercial, production-wise, too. clap clap

Stunning, Jeff. Although a bit grand for his style, that could be Morricone's music in the background. I'm still a sucker for Italian production.

This Dolce & Gabbana commercial is actually from Spring of last year (2016). I just happened to trip across it on youtube, and thought it was from this year.

I like the shots of her sawing the tree branch and the surprised look on her face when it suddenly breaks free of the trunk.  thumbsup.gif

Last night i saw Alien: Covenant, good movie, lots of fun if you are an Alien fan. Worth seeing for sure, prefer over the previous instalment but not near the original 2 Alien movies.

Unsure why we got it a week earlier in Australia.

Lucky you Damomac, I can't wait to see Alien: Covenant!  Here in the states, it's not due until next Friday.

And Jeff, that D&G commercial with Sophia Lauren was quite something, thanks for posting.

I also thought Baby Driver was just ok. Too old I suppose... The film was clearly made for the younger generation.  Kevin Spacey sure has done a good job mastering basically the same role he's played most of his career...

Looks like we're watching some of the same stuff recently.

Close Encounters — A+
Looks/sounds better than ever. Incredible movie.

It — C+
Disappointed me in many ways. Still a fun ride.

mother! — D-
You're right about Aronofsky. Frustrating experience.

What Happened to Monday — C
Agree with you that Noomi's an A in this one, but the movie is just so-so.

American Gods season 1.  F-ing awesome.  Worldly sh*t and clusterf*cks galore, so happy they are still making good TV these days.

The Big Sick last night.  A friend of mine produced it.  Nice little flick.  Zoe Kazan is great.

Just finished watching Dracula's Daughter (1936), with Gloria Holden as Countess Zeleska and Edward Van Sloan, returning as Dr Von Helsing.

It's been years since I last saw this and the flicker didnt disappoint.  clap clap clap

The B/W photography, sets and casting all work incredibly well together.
