That second one looks like it says M.A.P.S. in the lower right — if so it’s an Aussie 1-sheer.

Chorley have an auction coming up, to be found on Invaluable.

But such is their photography whereby all the posters look creased and held up by blutak, I am not sure if they know what's what.

And then there's this.

https://www.invaluable.com/auction-lot/james-bond-007-british-quad-poster-thunderball-vi-b604b8881b

The US 30x40 is called a UK quad, and they don't show the complete poster with all edges!  Looking at the rest of their presentation, it seems par for the course.

Does anyone know what this is?  It is as US as the above poster is British.

Grief!  And this, which is in fact a Danish reissue...

Hopeless bunch.

Agree that example #2 is Australian, as zooming in on the image sure looks to show the MAPS printer's info on the lower right, Simon.

The LALD 1-sheet is definitely of Australian origin. Besides the MAPS printing logo on the corner, the film's rating is NRC, which is used in Australia. The layout, with the blue box surrounding the pink box is the same on the Australian daybill and 3-sheet.

The THUNDERBALL 30x40 looks like it's in nice shape. The GOLDFINGER reissue poster I would say is from around 1967 or thereabouts, judging from the early UA Transamerica logo.

Well done chaps.

So disheartened was I by the presentations thus shown by Chorley, that an appropriate email has been sent, decrying efforts and all.

Simon,
The poster looks like it's in fairly decent shape but it looks like it was photographed hanging on someone's wall. Possibly with sticky glue-tack on the corners.
Are you in the hunt for it? After all it IS a 1-sheet, after all.   ;D

Nope, not at all interested.

Especially with the blutak efforts to all corners...

Most of this lot didn't sell, perhaps unsurprisingly.

https://www.chorleyauctionhouse.co.uk/catalogue/E96086EDBFDD5C4F98D534415151F135/9E70DED9FBC3657E69A6F0313405DEBC/specialist-sale-of-cinematic-posters/?action=1&sort=lotno

Spy 1 Sheet estimated at £600.

A View Kill Domark computer game poster estimated at £2-300!

Odds and sods went for the £20 mark but otherwise it looks like a supreme waste of everyone's time.

Perhaps unsurprisingly.

And now Chorley's nonsense is all back up as a timed auction.

Anything wrong with this image?

Plus this lot was sort of corrected but now finds itself to be a Danish Czech poster...

Don't believe this has been posted previously. The memorabilia dealer Propstore is holding its first film poster auction - it is due to take place on 28th June.

Further details are here: https://propstoreauction.com/view-auctions/info/id/128/

Anyone else having problems with the Hollywood Poster Auction password features....Im trying to use the automated password reset..nothing gets sent to me....as usual no one contacts me back when I email them directly or use the contact sheet...I seem to remember lots of issues related to their website in years past...will the lots be available on Invaluable or another auction platform?....Last time I won a lot I couldnt tell if my bid was even placed...I got no email or anything and 6 weeks later I got a phone call asking for credit card info from Morrie himself...surely there is someone running/operating the site that I can contact directly?

I was able to log right in with my password (which was saved), so no issue from that part of things. Am able to peruse the items on the site, register to bid, etc. All good.

It's also after hours (way past 6 PM) back east, so it could be likely that no one will be getting back to you this evening.

This is a great looking still that will be offered by Morrie, as part of a Bela lot. Sharp focus, so a lot of detail can be seen. And an image I hadnt seen before.

(Almost everything in this auction looks to have a reserve, ranging from about 100.00 - 4,000.00)

Of Karloff and Bela from Son of Frankenstein (1939):

The password change feature isnt working and the contact interface gets no reply..I emailed them the first time last Thursday...then emailed john ours and Morrie personnaly to see if I can somehow get logged on or in contact with the web personnel...

Sadly, they just dont have their shit together...anytime I have had to contact  ebay, emovieposter, juliens, and Heritage etc. they have gotten back to me within hours/minutes....I am going on day 6 using multiple contact methods and nothing...

And to clarify it's not Morrie's fault..it's an IT problem they are trying to rectify.....I had a long phone conversation with Morrie Everett.. the legend himself today..about everything lobby cards...and of course the story behind all those thousands of great lobby cards in the storage unit for 15 years some of which sold by Julien's in a poorly constructed auction...and recent results, profiles in history handling of his lobby cards and other things...great stories btw...what an absolute gem!!

This auction even got a little write up/promotion in Forbes:

What was the Profiles story?

It's quite a story....they ended up shipping a lot of quality material back to him so he is overwhelmed at the moment....  basically PIH didnt have the resources to handle it correctly...the magnitude of photography overwhelmed their capacity...they didnt describe the defects properly (Dan Strebin didnt assess the value correctly and the estimates were much lower than expected when published), lobby card lots failed to show pictures of the best cards combined with low estimates (something I was the beneficiary of) i.e. they pictured dead cards instead of best scene cards...the were suppose to hold up to 6 auctions but reneged on the deal after the pains of dealing with 6,000 photos while holding other auctions simultaneously...ultimately falling flat on their promises...it took them roughly 30 days to send invoices to buyers who wanted to pay and receive their items within a week... (mine took 45 days to get to me)....there is more of course

one Indian institution buyer (from Osian's) failed to pay for $125,000 in auction winnings....the same buyer was assumed to be the curator who "arranged the purchase" never paid for the entire Leonard Schrader collection (which never made it to India) and sat in a storage unit in California for nearly 15 years before it was auctioned in lots a few months ago....we talked about that auction for a bit here on APF...So that is why Julien's had a fire sale of all those great silent cards in large lots including the greatest Keaton collection of cards (according to Michael Hawks and Morrie) ever assembled...Morrie didnt even find out about it until the last second before the Julien's Auction....Morrie said it was insane to sell them in lots and it was crazy to fire sale them with no publicity...

Hmmm. Sorry to read all that.

I guess in hindsight, it was a problem waiting to happen given the sheer size of the collection.  Was Morrie ever a part of the sales / marketing / listing process?  I ask as he would be the person best placed to handle the breadth of knowledge.  No matter how good Profiles is, I could never see anyone who would know all about all.

In his place, Morrie's, to safeguard the process and monetary benefit, I would Never just chuck it all over the fence and let them get on with it.  Rather I would based myself in their offices for a year writing the blurb and collating.
