Or, he is a good friend of one of the auctioneers, or vendors?

I thought all his inventory had gone through Profiles?  Had he some items left?

He has stuff posted to ebay, too. And also had stuff at a previous auction, as well.

Oh.  Ok.

Was not aware of all that.  Or maybe I wasn't paying attention...

Cheers.

I was only aware because Morrie posts little updates on MOPO now and then.

This could be fun (for anyone in the LA area) -- a free appraisal weekend at the Beverly Hills office of Heritage. Folks can bring up to 3 items, including movie posters!

Ewbank's will be offering in house postage for this auction on items under a certain size (pretty much everything except the large glazed/framed posters). For these we can get competitive quotes for you.

We will also have the auction catalogued and online early summer so buyers have plenty of time to request condition reports and save as there are some great items in there!

Is the in-house postage something you will be bringing to all your future auctions or is it just a one?

Getting the images online much earlier than usual will be great for us buyers. Again is this something you will be bringing to all your auctions?

The preview only contains a few lots to generate interest. We expect there to be over 600 of vintage posters in the auction with a strong selection of James Bond.

Thanks Jeff.

Nothing appears to be up on their site yet.  Indeed, when you navigate to something 25th Auction related, clicking on one of the lot numbers takes you to a message to say that the 24th Auction is now closed.

To be monitored, evidently.

Hey Simon,

I did notice that too... seems they are a little behind as this mini catalog also mentions going onto their site to view (as well as download) the entire catalog, if one wants to. I emailed to ask about it.

I was hoping to watch this one, but wasn't able to.  Quite a variety of nice stuff.  Looking at the post-auction results, many went for right at or near the reserve, and a fairly high percentage of lots were passed.

Thanks to Jefe, for mentioning the auction here.  thumbup thumbup

The in-house postage will be coming at some point. Its just me in the department so looking to get an extra pair of hands to help with postage.

In terms of getting the lots online earlier this proves very difficult for the regular quarterly auctions. We do try our best and the auction is always online a minimum of two weeks beforehand.

Hey Alastair,

So what's the postage situation at the moment, as It's been a nightmare in the past, hence I have never bid since?

Hi Paul,

The only problem at the moment for some people is the cost, the quality, speed and communication of the postage company is very good.

I will say if I can fit it in a medium size tube I will post it to you at cost price.

We now have date and location information for CINEVENT 48 in 2016 and CINEVENT 49 in 2017. Both conventions will be held at the Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel, as this year's convention was. The 2016 convention will be held from Thursday June 2nd through Sunday June 5th. In 2017, the convention will be held from Thursday May 25th to Sunday May 28th. More details will be available soon!

Hey Michael, how did Cinevent 2017 go? Was it a rousing success? Lots of attendees and all that?

And how did Morrie's auction go?

Hey Michael, how did Cinevent 2017 go? Was it a rousing success? Lots of attendees and all that?

It went really well! Multiple dealers told me it was their best year at the show and we look to have had a bit of an increase in attendance, though I don't have final numbers to confirm that. There were, of course, a few bumps in the road, but that's inevitable and the vast majority of people I spoke with were happy.

We're back at the same hotel for the same Memorial Day weekend (Thursday May 24th to Sunday May 27th) next year for CINEVENT 50!

And how did Morrie's auction go?

He and I spoke a bit about that and he certainly didn't come across as unhappy. And my understanding is that we're on for doing the same thing next year. Beyond that, I'd defer to him for giving out any details.

It would be great if he would join here. He started a registration once, over a year ago, but he never completed the reg. process for some reason. Maybe we can get him to try to join again, and post first hand, how it all went.

And congrats on what sounds like a wonderful success this year! clap clap
