Looked through both quickly and am still mopping up drool from the floor. Need to think about postponing the wedding to free the cash up.

Was a little surprised on some of the estimates made on lobby card sets as a few sets or multiple cards for a single title as a lot were estimated at the price singles cards have been going for lately. Others seem like they are expecting record prices and rightly so seeing he condition of some.

I made a list. I decided it was too long. I looked at it again. The final list is longer. girly2.gif

I would love to know how he managed to assemble this collection.

Exquisite.

Really quite an impressive start to the collection sell off. I dont really do much with lobbies per say, but still nice to see a run like that all in one place.

Amazing to say the least.. and as Morrie has spoken and written about, his collection is a true labor of love and passion for the hobby.  notworthy.gif

The cards for The Wizard, are quite something, too.

Agreed. I collect them. But seeing all those lobbies has helped me to appreciate even more more their artwork.
I also want to see if this auction will have an impact on HA's final sales this July. They have some competition.

Apologies if this has been posted before, but you can flip through the upcoming catalog for Part I of the Everett auction:

I'm hoping for bidders fatigue from just the sheer amount.  faint2.gif

I think you are right, ladeda.

Either that, or volume-mental overloads will begin. Brain short circuiting will abound!!  imbecile.gif

I ordered the catalog a few days ago, got the mini about a week ago. Was hoping the big one would get here. I prefer looking through those at down times to staring at a computer screen. Hopefully it arrives soon!

True. It is overwhelming.

it's incredible. the listings in the catalog seemed to get better and better for some three hundred pages.

hard to believe that this is just a small portion of an individual's collection!

Didn't you kids get the 1st catalog....it's a pip too..it's been on eBay here or there for around $10
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Profiles-In-History-Morris-Everett-Movie-Posters-Catalog-/261914384638?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cfb5058fe

Anyway...from what I've heard... There will be tons of bidders coming out of the woodworks....as well as institutions and dealers....the material is far too rare and organized and well advertised....

There are some things to consider...Morrie was an avid bidder so it's nice to get a crack at HIS best material without him competing...for me it's the greatest relief because we get into some nasty bidding wars constantly...and now I get to go crazy...i am actually getting to raid the archive of my greatest competitor...and he just smiles....I fucking love it!!!!  sm1

I spoke to Susanne at Profiles and she said there will be 6 Everett auctions total....so you can search the PDF file that Dan Strebin concocted....there is a ton of really great stuff that is NOT in this auction....so ....there is plenty of fun to come!!!

Heritage is gearing up for another great July auction and there are some great rare lobbies already on their site ....they  finally added many new photos today!!...so maybe there will be some real steals after Profiles and Emovieposter remove some $$$ from the hobby...

A final thought...there is a massive amount of great material hitting the market this year...there will be a lot of great deals....keep your eyes peeled...

Very true Tait. Shame the pdf catalogue with the full listing is just a listing without photos. Though i appreciate that it is really a mammoth task putting together such a vast collection in one single document.

Good luck everyone. Happy bidding.

I was just thinking over the weekend what the impact to prices there might be with a lot of Dwight's stuff and Morrie's all hitting the market at the same time in addition to the normal signature auctions. Maybe the hobby can absorb it all. The higher tax bracketed folks are going to be the majority of the buyers anyway I suppose.

Those Ewbanks estimates seem low on most of their items.
Is that to draw more to the auctions?

Not sure if anyone else has noticed yet but part one and two are actually being listed on E-Bay as well. There is a list of the cards and posters going up with the same low estimates. If they actually sold that low for some of the items I might even be able to afford some.
