Vectis's next Auction on Monday 29th, serious lack of photos right now though
http://www.vectis.co.uk/Page/ViewAuction.aspx?AuctionId=490&DayNo=1

Well, something is kicking off over at Vectis.

Of the James Bond items, over 50% have been withdrawn.  Six of my already placed nine bids have disappeared.  I have asked that my remaining three are cancelled too.

I haven't checked the rest of the auction to assess the state of their auction next week...

That's a shame....hope they get it sorted soon. It feels like they need to work a bit on these auctions...

Vectis seemed to pride itself on all its previous toy and train auctions... I wonder why there seems to be such a problem with the posters?  dontknow.gif

Havent they been around awhile?

I've just been speaking to Adam, it seems the only problem is one of the Vendors has pulled out as he wants all his stuff in one Auction, which will now be held in December. This fellow has enough stuff for a 3 day auction, and he wants all the posters he had in this one moved to then...

I see.

Ok.  So clearly not a Vectis problem.

That said, while on this subject, I do hope Vectis sort their site out in terms of bids one has placed and where they are in the pecking order on the Your Bids page.  The problem I am experiencing is that;

1. I place a bid which earns me winning bid status.
2. A mail comes through from Vectis saying I have been outbid
3. So my natural reaction is to go to the My Bids page to increase the bid.
4. But no mention on this page lets me know which item has been outbid on.
5. So I go to the Auction page in question and of course there is no mention on that page as to current bid - just the expected outcome which could just as easily be surpassed by now.
6. So then I go back to the email to find the Item no. and thence back to the Auction page to that number and then try to remember what bid I placed and how far north I need to up the stakes.

Currently, it is very hard work.  Currently, it seems the better idea is to just wait until the day and hope the Vectis and / or Sale-room software is up to snuff.

Or, am I missing a trick?

Yep - you have to bid $1,000,000 per poster to ensure you win it   :D

Not been around here for a while - very busy with life and whatnot.

After speaking with Paul, I thought it only proper I reply directly.
What Paul stated is correct; there are still some good items in the sale though.

As said in previous posts, I can and do advise Vectis with regards to their website and everything else I have no direct control over.
I am going to pass on comments and feedback to the management as it is very important.

Can you please email me with all your thoughts, comments, feedback and anything else: adam@vectis.co.uk
If you do that I will forward all on to the management.

Simes - please can you email me that info you posted please to the address above?
Best wishes,
Adam

It seems that the Christies' vintage posters auction on 13 November will not have any film posters.... what a shame...  girly2.gif

Indeed, not a one.

But the Catalogue for the Bonhams event should be available tomorrow - one month ahead of the date.  This to include one piano of certain fame.

Some really nice posters, nonetheless.  Does the "low estimate" range listed equate to "minimum bid"?

Good point Vick. Not that I buy at Christies every day, but I don't think it is the same, the low estimate is not necessaraly the minimum bid. I seem to recall that the Martinati's Casablanca auctioned last year had a  minimum bid of 6k, the low estimate was around 20k...
