Oh, er well, I didn't know you were going Ted.... ;)
Many Thanks,

Will talk soon... :D

I think I'm going to bring some EXORCIST lobby cards for Linda Blair to sign.

Maybe ply her with a few drinks...
...smooth talk her back to the hotel...
Just to see if her head really spins, ya know...
..wink, wink, nod, nod...

I thought maybe it was keeping her head attached to her body. That spinning has to take a toll.

there aren't that many people willing to sell their own merchandise starting at 99 cents with no reserve and being happy with how the results are regardless of what the results are

*cough*

No, not many people at all... or even sell at "no reserve" and just happy if anyone turned up.

And with that I should like to quietly advise my upcoming movie poster event being my Quite Significant Vintage Movie Poster Auction - register here to ensure you get notification of when it starts or scan now to register later

Just sayin'...

As mentioned on MOPO, Christie's Vintage Poster auction is May 23.  Try to avoid the first half of the catalog or you'll end up hooked on ludicrously-outstanding travel and other advertising posters.

Here's the link to the catalog.

Here's a link to the individual film poster lots.

Sadly, Christie's is selling a stone cold ridiculous "signed" fake Pulp Fiction.  I wrote to the auction runner and complained about it:

There are some great posters at that auction. Glad the Gentlemen Prefer Blondes I'm currently buying is cheaper that what their estimate is. (well saying that I tried selling my Dr Strangelove on ebay before christmas and couldn't shift it for £300 let alone £800. Had to let it go for £150 in the end. Oh well.)
Roll, roll, roll, Rollergirl!!!

'Cinevent' in Columbus OH is a couple weeks away - auction, dealers, all around great weekend to meet up with many of us poster geeks - surprised not much discussion on this one.

I know it's not for everyone but I look forward to meeting up with good friends and overindulging in food, good scotch, and needless posters .

So...anyone going?

wow tough crowd I guess...

Well if anyone decides to show, look for a geeky poster guy with the name tag 'Steve Ryan' and say "hello".

I got the catalog for the Cinevent auction on May 25, some pretty good stuff going up for auction. However, with relatively high reserves and the 20% buyers premium, there aren't many stellar deals:

http://hollywoodposterauction.com/auctions/18/lots/browse?p=200&w=0

It's going to be an eight hour (!) live auction with no breaks(!).  Can you imagine sitting through that?

Here's the 24 sheet (!) for Carter the Great, reserve at $1,000:

Some of the Cinevent reserves are sky high.

A $12,000.00 reserve on the Italian 2F for Breakfast At Tiffany's:o

And an estimate of $15-18K.
