They all say that one sheets are too big to frame and they dont like the foldlines.

I think daybills have a place in anybody's collection who actually wants to display their collection.  And the stone litho look adds nostalgia, IMO.

It's looking like our next Mini/Major will be held in June, so even though our current one hasn't ended, it is not too soon to start sending consignments for the June one!

The first example of each item we receive is the one that gets in the auction, so there is a real incentive to send sooner rather than later.

Going to be any daybills or contingent on the consignments?  An auction without daybills cannot call itself a 'Special Auction' these days.

I don't know, but I can add to your statement, that "...Daybill collectors are 'special people'.. if you know what I mean"

no, but I might have some refolded rolded unfolded rolded folded rerolded posters. They're kind of rare, and I don't want any bootlegs

Not really. There are plenty more like that! I live close to Cooloongatta and there are towns like Oodnadatta, Wangaratta, etc etc - names that have all been derived from our indigenous Australians.

From wikipedia ......Experts are divided regarding the Aboriginal meaning of the name, preferring either 'whirling waters' (woolloon and capemm) or 'fight talk place' (woolloon and gabba). Woollongabba is particularly famous for being the site of the Brisbane Cricket Ground, known as "The Gabba".

and from "I've Been Everywhere Man" here are some more ....
Moree, Taree, Jerilderie, Bambaroo,
Toowoomba, Gunnedah, Caringbah, Woolloomooloo,
Dalveen, Tamborine, Engadine, Jindabyne,
Lithgow, Casino, Brigalow and Narromine,
Megalong, Wyong, Tuggerawong, Wangarella,
Morella, Augathella, Brindabella, I'm the feller.

Chorus
Spoken "Yeah, I know that, but have you been to..."

I've been to Wollongong, Geelong, Kurrajong, Mullumbimby,
Mittagong, Molong, Grong Grong, Goondiwindi,
Yarra Yarra, Boroondara, Wallangarra, Turramurra,
Boggabri, Gundagai, Narrabri, Tibooburra,
Gulgong, Adelong, Billabong, Cabramatta,
Parramatta, Wangaratta, Coolangatta, what's the matter?
I've been to Ettalong, Dandenong, Woodenbong, Ballarat,
Canberra, Milperra, Unanderra, Captain's Flat,
Cloncurry, River Murray, Kurri Kurri, Girraween,
Terry Hills, Stockinbingal, Collaroy and Narrabeen,
Bendigo, Dorrigo, Bangalow, Indooroopilly,
Kirribilli, Yeerongpilly, Wollondilly, don't be silly ......

A reporter sent me an email today about a theater chain in Wyoming selling 10,000 post-1987 posters. I talked to her on the phone for a bit, explained that most moderns aren't worth that much but some (Pulp Fiction) are worth quite a lot.  She's supposed to write an article about the sale and will sent it to me.  Will post....

To: "AlphaMel1968@gmail.com" <AlphaMel1968@gmail.com>

Hello, my name is Kristy ****** and I am the feature editor of the Casper Star-Tribune in Casper, Wyoming.  A local theater here is having a movie poster sale of all its posters from 1988 to present, more than 10,000. They are going to sell them for between $1 to $10. I’m writing a newspaper article and was looking around for a Wyoming-based poster collector. I couldn’t find any, but ran across your site. I would like to talk to a collector about this genre. I was impressed with your site and wondered if you might have 15 minutes free today or early tomorrow that we could talk about the basics of starting a poster collection. Or, if you know of a Wyoming-based collector that you could put me in touch with. Of course, I’d list your website in the article.

Mel, I'm curious.... Why did you tell this 'reporter' that some of those posters are worth a lot of money?
The only one who stands to gain from that is the theater.
If the proceeds were going to charity (are they?), then I would've done the same.
If not, you screwed the pooch for any kids looking for bargains.
If it was me, I would've given the 'reporter' nothing but cursory info.
Let them do the research themselves.
If I lived in Wyoming and was waiting for this sale, I'd FedEx you some pooch poop in a box.

I still love you, Mel.
I'm just cranky tonight is all.

Your right, Chris.  What was I thinking?  I should just concentrate on my stone litho daybill collection. Let me see what Bruce has going on for Thursday's daybill auction.
