Out of curiousity, when do posters typically become available for new films?

For example, they just revealed the “Halloween Kills” teaser this week and the movie is set for theaters on 10/15 and was curious as to when you can expect those posters to hit the market?

Appreciate any thoughts!

They used to follow holidays, comic cons and showest for teasers, so they want the posters up for the highest draw weeks and big reveal events.  In general though, it is 2-3 months lead for a teaser/adv if they are going to do one. There is no hard fast rule though.
