My Visit to Poster Mountain - Pics taken in 2012
« on: January 20, 2019, 03:39:34 PM »
In another thread about which poster restorer to use and Poster Mountain was mentioned.  I remember that I visited there in 2012 and John Davis the proprietor showed me around. I thought I would share these old photos to those interested of some of the posters being worked on and finished. They did a linen backing for me on my Polish Poster for Rosemary's Baby.

from some of the process.

Some other posters waiting for treatment or in progress

Beautiful job done on this one

another excellent job

Hope you guys enjoyed looking at these.

Oh, not forgetting this Mondo Stout Big Trouble i Little China having some edge waveyness being repaired.

Great pics of the backing & restore work done on that INDESTRUCTIBLE MAN OS, P.A.

Was your ROSEMARY'S BABY Polish poster sent in to them in the mail? (& meaning, no pics of that backing job?)

I think I have a picture of it somewhere. But if not I will try to dig it out and take a photo of it. I think it's been in the tube since I got it back from them. I posted it to them after I saw the shop and they shipped it back across the pond! I will have a look for it.

I live in so CA and have been to, and visited PM, a number of times. John Davis and his entire team are hospitable, friendly and do fine work. Their longevity in the restoration business is a testament to that.  thumbsup.gif

I wonder who you might mean?   8)   Doh.gif

And of course the other part of the "slop team," who uses Elmers Glue to make repairs with and also likes to set rusted cans filled with brushes on the actual posters she "retouches."   faint2.gif  (aka Mrs Cloutier).
