Excellent website for literature and music
« on: October 16, 2010, 08:22:32 AM »
Hi, as most of you guys have a healthy interest in popular culture I like to introduce you to a website a friend of mine has set up. It's called Booktunes and it's about music in literature and literature about music. It's a work in progress, but already it has some interesting and various entries on Murakami, Amadou & Mariam, King Dork, Jennifer Donnelly and Vikram Seth.

Check it out:

Gotta say, Wim, that it's a very interesting site.  Thanks for sharing.

It may be more or less interesting now. I've contributed to the site with critique and a musiclist for LIFE, the autobiography of Keith Richards

I am a huge Murakami fan and have read most (maybe missing 1?) of his books.  I'm very much looking forward to seeing the new film adaptation of Norwegian Wood, which for Americanos would be something like a film adaptation of something like On the Road?  Something like that.

You can check out the trailer here:

Yes it's all in Japanese.  Maybe if you haven't read the book the trailer will be completely uninteresting?

HIGHLY RECOMMEND reading Norwegian Wood or anything else from Murakami.  Just do it.

OK later gators.
