November 2018
« on: November 03, 2018, 09:19:29 PM »
Wandered over to the little thrift shop around the corner today and they had a bin with some rolled up posters inside.

This was rolled inside another, so I snagged it.

A rolled US OS for GOODFELLAS. This is the single sided version.

Hi Gargoyle!  Wow, seeing several of your posters brings back such great memories!  Die Hard is playing on the big screen this Wednesday night as part of Fathom Events!  30 year anniversary, and I'll certainly be there.  Are you going, Gargoyle?  Okie

Had this arrive today.

A Belgian for SPIRITS OF THE DEAD (1968), [Italian: Tre passi nel delirio, French: Histoires extraordinaires] with Jane Fonda, Brigitte Bardot, Terrance Stamp and Alain Delon. Along with 3 directors. Had to be quite the power trip production, Im guessing.

Hi Jeff,  With Bardot's hand placement, it took me a minute to figure out exactly what she was holding that didn't include her bellybutton!   Okie

What!?  I believe you, Jeff, though her painted image here looks like Bardot!  Double the Bardamage!  Okie

I see what you mean, Okie. Maybe the artist had "Bardot on the Brain" while he was painting Jane.  8)

Went on my lunch hour today to a local seller who had this poster listed for sale. The cool thing too, is that she worked for the distributor, Cinecom, back in the 1980s, so got this directly from Cinecom, when the film was re-released in 1984.

This was the remastered version/restoration by Giorgio Moroder, who added a contemporary soundtrack, by such artists as Freddy Mercury, Pat Benatar, Adam Ant and Bonnie Tyler.

I haven't been buying too many movie posters lately, but here's a recent acquisition, a country-of-origin UK quad for "First Men in the Moon" (1964).  I've always liked the imagery on that one.
