Cant believe it's October already!

Something to kick the month off with.

This US one sheet for the flick, TRUE TO LIFE (1943), with Mary Martin, looking a bit "pin up," Dick Powell, Franchot Tone, William Demarest and Victor Moore (shown upper right), who was one funny guy.

Thanks. I see that resemblance, too. She was 29 when she made it. The flicker was released on Dec 24, 1943, about 3 weeks after her 30th birthday (Dec 1, 1913). And well before her Peter Pan days, too. ;)

Its been a while , thought id throw in a few posters bought over the summer, always a quiet time! Only had the distraction of the World Cup where England actually performed to a reasonable standard, all my poster contacts going awol, losing their job or changing careers & a mind blowing, drink fuelled bender in Ibiza to deal with over the summer so all good!!
As usual mostly re-releases with a splattering of this & that!

The Piano - simple but effective design!

Yellow Submarine & Hard Days Night - not really a Beatles fan but quite like them.

Pandoras Box - great poster - nice thick paper, even had that freshly printed smell - never seen the film thou!
Pandora's Box - 2018 Re-Release by michael reeve, on Flickr

Vertigo - Part of the Hitchcock season & one of the key re-releases this year & what a bugger to get! fairly well shown but most of the mainstream cinemas showing it use digital marketing & only 1 of my contacts received any. Park Circus only sent 2 as always. Bit of haggling/pleading worked eventually thumbsup.gif

Heathers - great film. went to watch it & still as good as ever!

The Big Lebowski - ditto Vertigo - but still a classic notworthy.gif

Eyes Without a Face - great poster & another that has a pale blue rather than white reverse.

Mildred Pierce - went to watch this as well - pretty good still - part of a Joan Crawford season

The Producers

Paterson - never seen this version before & then 2 appeared on ebay at the same time! Weird!!

Spitfire - just love my WW2 documentary/films - next year its The Great Escape 75th Anniversary re-release thumbsup.gif

Jaws 2 shite film but always loved this poster & when offered at a bargain price i just couldnt refuse!

That's a great selection of quads Mike. The Piano and Pandora's Box in particular but Paterson is the stand out poster for me.

Love the Piano quad.  In fact, love all the re-release redesigns.

Pandora's Box is essential viewing, and if you're a plane geek like me Spitfire is an absolute joy.  I think they might have used some of the extra Dunkirk footage.

Great posters.

thanks everyone - posting in recent acquisitions always reminds me what ive  actually bought. Easily forgotten!
Pandoras box only showed in a few cinemas in the UK & the photo doesnt do it justice. Its a shame more posters arnt of the same quality.
The Piano - another great poster design - quite a few flying around on ebay but i may have a spare Mark if interested? I have a nasty habit of buying duplicates without realising Doh.gif.
my favoutite thou is Paterson - great design & ive never seen this version before & probably wont again!
happy collecting!!!!

Is this the same event that caused Scottie Ferguson to have to retire early, Jeff?   Okie

Never noticed that before...  With NSS number but without MGM logo.  And another version exists without NSS number but with logo!

Would the non-NSS version also be considered a studio style?

Yesterday, I walked around the corner to a little 2nd hand shop i stop into once in a while. They get items donated by the public, and then they sell them, with the proceeds going to a number of women and children's organizations, so I like their cause.

In a small bin off to the side, was this. I grabbed it, as it was 3 bucks.

JACKIE BROWN (1997), rolled US teaser, Grier style:
