I won this Japanese B1 recently.  It's a really great movie, filmed in Florida, near Disney World.

1935, prob one of just 2-3 surviving originals (from HA/EMP records):

It's a comedy/mystery!

Whatchu think 'bout it?

Some nice classic quads there. The Devils one of my favorite films - great poster along with the 2001.

Had this arrive today.

An Australian OS for the Natalie Wood comedy, Penelope (1966), with Peter Falk & Jonathan Winters. Directed by Arthur Hiller. Really nice art, printed in hand lithography, which is very much like stone lithography was done.

It's certainly been awhile since Jonathan Winters walked like that, Jeff!  I think the image of Natalie looks more like Louise Mandrell. Both lovely ladies for sure!  I'm a bit partial to Louise, though.   Okie

Was surprised that this poster was rolled vertically rather than horizontally, but I guess they don't know how they are supposed to be rolled at the Venice Film Festival  eyeroll

some other ones I got at the beginning of the month but didn't get round to sorting them until today>

Agree, okie, the image of Natalie isnt exactly spot on in likeness, but I think it's a cute likeness and a good job was done with the art and style of printing.

Because the process used was hand lithography, I looked up a more precise description. Australian dealer John Reed explained the "hand lithography" process, as done by Australian printer Robert Burton Printing Ltd. in the 1960s & '70s, like this:

"The company (Robert Burton) used a hand lithographic process where the artists would draw both the images and letters directly onto the zinc plate. Each layer of the image was rubbed on by hand. The paper used would be shiny on one side and rough on the other to accept the lithographic printing."

Yes, great choices, Gargoyle!  I like the painted art, though I am amazed at the detailed photos of Logan and Planet of the Apes: makeup and effects that are so good you can do an in your face, detailed close-up.  Really cool all around.  Okie

Congrats! I also got this 27x40 1S. It's printed on heavy paper BTW.

So I got it for $280 - well below recent EMP results - from a dealer. PM if you want one for yourself, not to flip!
