Must admit to not knowing of his involvement with For Your Eyes Only, nor seeing this particular image.

Creative director for 2,000+ MPs!!!

On any given poster Gold might have taken the photograph, drawn the illustration, designed the typeface and set the colours. Or he might have done none of those things. That’s part of the reason why people get confused about what a creative director does.

“Classic movie posters are memorable; they are held in as much affection as the movies themselves,” Lars Trodson wrote on the film website The Roundtable in 2009. “When a classic movie is matched by a classic poster, you’re held in the thrall of a distinct and pleasurable memory. The poster image becomes part of the movie experience, and is, in the end, another of the reasons why movies are so essential to us.”

I went through my collection to see what I had of his.  Of course, no Casablanca or any other expensive pieces, but a lot of little stuff.

Very creative guy.  I still have more stuff to add.

Dang, T, the big news sites should link to your site instead of cobbling together only a handful of examples!  Well, maybe casual readers only want to see a handful.  I'm sure glad you are giving us the Gold smorgasbord here!!!  Thanks, Okie

Well, my site is way too archaic for that.  Originally, it was only designed for my personal use.  I started collecting in 2001 and in 2002 my wife made this site so I could see the 100 or so posters I owned.  Cut to today.  It just doesn't work anymore so someone is completely revamping it as we speak.  All you'll have to type is Bill Gold and you'll get everything.  Stay tuned.
