Ghibli Poster Exhibition in Tokyo Metro Station
« on: August 07, 2010, 06:09:35 AM »
I am just back from Japan and whilst there picked up a lot of new posters for my site. I'll post a link in the selling section shortly. However, I was passing through Kiya-shirakawa Metro station when I found this exhibition of Studio Ghibli movie posters...

Now that's the way it should be done.
Easily my favorite animation studio.  Ghibli rocks and that exhibit is beautiful.  Thanks for sharing the pics!

I visited Studio Ghibli Museum a couple of years ago, and that was certainly something magical. However, I was mildly disappointed that there were very few examples of Studio Ghibli poster art on display. So I bet this little exhibition would have been quite a thrill. Great stuff, thanks for sharing.

What a great and open way to exhibit these posters, rather than them just being up on a wall. Being able to walk up and look closely this way is fantastic..   happy1

Old post resurrection!  When we visited the Ghibli Museum in 2012 in Mitaka, Japan, the amount of original art for the films tacked up on the walls was stunning.  And, you could put your eye right up next to the uncovered art and really see the detail in the lines and paint.  Amazing to have the access to original art the Ghibli Museum provided.  Okie
