It's been a little quiet on this thread lately, so I'll post a few of my recent acquisitions.

I figured as much. You hide your posters away. I know you've had one on display from time to time...but TWO? Zowie! You are getting a little out of control. Ha! CHEERS!

I don't hide them away, I store them.  Once I have them, I don't need to ever see them again.  I think I've said it before, but half of my friends don't even know I collect posters, and I like it that way.

It HAS been a bit slow on this thread this month. Hmm. T, I love your new stuff. I am particularly fond of the YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE and the Thai GREMLINS. Oooo yes. Me like.

I wasn't going to bother...but I'll just throw up three from my current purchases---not the best/not the worst--like I used to do before the whole Photobucket fiasco (Now that I can see them again, i don't know why i stopped).  So here are three:

ELVES:
It's ho-ho-ho holiday horror time with ELVES. I've never seen the flick (but ordered a bootleg recently)--and yes, this IS a video poster (It wasn't released theatrically).
I like my holiday horror cheesy. I really need to track down a poster for DON'T OPEN 'TIL CHRISTMAS, but this will have to do until then.

THE SILENCERS:
Yes, a Matt Helm flick with Dean Martin, baby. Not as good as a Bond, but I'm still a fan.

THE EVIL DEAD 2 (Thai):
Seeing Thierry's Thai GREMLINS inspired this choice of the three (out of 10) from my recent post that I chose to share here. You gotta love those Thai posters. They're so dang COOL. EVIL DEAD 2 is a great example (as is the GREMLINS one).

Okay. That's three. Eh... I tried.

Come on people. POST YOUR STUFF. We wanna see it.

CHEERS!

its been a while . thought it about time to post a few new posters dropping at the front door!
a few re- releases

Paths of Glory - pretty hard to find & despite the best  efforts of the seller it managed to survive the journey thumbsup.gif
Paths of Glory - 2005 Re-Release by michael reeve, on Flickr

The Old Dark House - Eureka released this for sale for a limited time. Designed by Graham Humphries, it looks great. Now why cant more modern posters be like this?
The Old Dark House - 2018 Re-Release by michael reeve, on Flickr

Goodfellas - finally managed to get a copy of this. cinemas were offered a choice of 2 posters for this iconic film. I still prefer the other
Goodfellas - 2016 Re-Release - V2 by michael reeve, on Flickr
the alternative version
Goodfellas - 2016 Re-Release - V1 by michael reeve, on Flickr

A Fistful of Dollars - cant remember if anyone has posted this but bugger to find
A Fistful of Dollars - 2018 Re-Release by michael reeve, on Flickr

2001: A Space Odyssey - great poster for 50th Anniversary. Despite it showing at 100+ cinemas in the UK it was another bugger to get!
2001: A Space Odyssey - 2018 Re-Release by michael reeve, on Flickr

Bergman season at the BFI - proved to be the hardest to find as very few cinemas were showing them - less than 25. Whilst the posters arnt great, the completest in me meant i had to find them.
Ingmar Bergman: 2018 Centenary by michael reeve, on Flickr
Ingmar Bergman: The Magic Flute - 2017 Re-Release by michael reeve, on Flickr
Ingmar Bergman: The Touch - 2018 Re-Release by michael reeve, on Flickr

a couple that i think Jon(posterart) has shown already but still thought worth another showing
The Dam Busters - 2018 Re-Release by michael reeve, on Flickr
Metropolis - 2017 Re-Release by michael reeve, on Flickr

& finally a couple of  newer films

Seoul Station - i dont think ive seen another on ebay

Ready Player One - really enjoyed the film & a nice poster
Ready,Player One - V2 by michael reeve, on Flickr

Hey fella, good to have you on the radar again.  Hope you're well.

Love the Metropolis, Dambusters and Fistful quads.  Never knew there was such a market for restored films.

Must admit, I prefer the Other Goodfellas!

Congrats on this recent haul, Michael.

And I also think that RR quad for The Old Dark House is fantastic. And with it being a Graham Humphreys  original creation, and not just some photos digitally cobbled together, you know it's gonna be a knock out of the park, design-wise. clap clap

Very cool EVIL DEAD 2 there, Shawn.

JEFF: Sorry. I'm not all that well versed in Thai artists, but I do like the art on this one.

DAMO: Super nice pickups. I especially like that HALLOWEEN re-release and the HOUSE OF 1,000 CORPSES. Zowie!

Okie: You are always ever so kind, even on my lamest of posters. A bit o' GRINCH in the ELVES poster? Perhaps, but ELVES came long before the live-action GRINCH.

Shawn,

Love the 'Elves' man! Great poster.

'The Killing of A Sacred Deer,' is a pretty strange one, but right up my alley. It's kind of a hyper real drama/thriller, but you have to be able to suspend belief as well... that probably doesn't make sense. Give it a watch and let me know what you think.

T,

Really dig the 'Danger Diabolik,' never heard of the film but super cool poster.

Michael,

Some real gems in there... The Old Dark House, 2001, and the Bergman are the standouts for me though. Nice haul man.

Paths of Glory, 2 different Goodfellas, Fistful of Dollars, The Old Dark House, Metropolis..........<sigh>.........how come WE never get nice reissues over here in the USA? There was a 1-sheet made for Old Dark House but it was black and white and mostly a giant close-up of Karloff. Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you.

Hey Shawn.. Looks like the Thai artist who did your EVIL DEAD 2 poster was someone named Tinda.

A hodgepodge a new grabs... I had to lay off collecting posters for a while, but have been able to creep back into it lately. This is the first haul since then that I have been really excited about... feels good.

Seems there could be a market for well done, artistic, true theatrical RR posters. I know I'd rather see posters like that versus the Mondo-type prints that have become all the rage, when a flick is re-released.

I wish some of these films would be reissued theatrically over here, but DVD, BluRay, Amazon, and the rest have killed it all. Fathom Events reissues older films but usually for 1 or 2 showings on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon plus I don't think they produce posters for them. Granted there have been recent reissues with posters made for them but they only seem to play in NYC for a limited time. A Hard Days Night, Beauty and The Beast (Cocteau), Night Of The Living Dead, Safety Last and others all had posters made for them. The Cowboy Pictures 1-sheet for Beauty And The Beast in particular is great.

It just seems the British BFI and Park Circus reissues are more fun, for lack of a better word. They play up the film's reputation and make you want to see it in a theatre again. As tired as I find Casablanca to be, the Park Circus reissue quad is damned nice.

I think Michael is building up a very interesting niche collection with these great re-release quads which, dare I say it, may even have some investment potential for the future, given their very limited supply.

I agree, Mark. The fact that so many of those quads are well done in their design, and not just quickly "thrown" together, all seem to point in that potential direction.
