I encourage you to "dual" post your "best" thoughts/MPs both on APF plus one or more "subreddits" on Reddit.com, which are much larger than all the MPC forums combined and often exhibit strong interest in MPs, although they have relatively few "hard-core" MP collectors.

https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/ 17 million subscribers
- mostly movie issues, but "current release" movie poster threads get 10K+ likes and 1K+ comments, most about movie/stars, not poster itself

https://www.reddit.com/r/MoviePosterPorn/ 89K subscribers
- mostly fan art/Mondos, but famous original MPs favored too

https://www.reddit.com/r/horror/

https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/

https://www.reddit.com/r/JamesBond/

There's a subreddit for everything under the sun, these are my faves.....

*****

When you title your new thread, write "see comments" at end and include links in your first comment to APF, your website/FB page etc.

*****

Sales pitches, obscure topics (like authentication topics) will bomb bc they won't attract "likes," which are key to getting on the hot/most popular lists.

My successful threads:

https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/7rxg8e/old_photo_showing_two_original_phantom_of_the/

I 'shoplifted" this pic/info but credited Jeff and Rich, promoted APF

I expected 10 likes, got 10.5K, 306 comments  :o

Been posting on Reddit quite a bit to promote theater-issued posters (vs. Mondos/fan art, average age of Reddit user is 29yo, no knowledge of older MPs) and MPC.guide/APF.

My usual success/fail rate applies, 70% bomb, 25% moderately popular, 5% popular.

All of these XL images were posted with detailed titles and "(Pls see comments for details and links)" plus a lengthy explanatory comment.

None have remotely come close to the popularity of my earliest post (replete with obnoxious braggin'), which garnered 10,500 likes/300 comments. At the time I expected 5-10 likes. Mystery wrapped in a conundrum....

So I still encourage dual-posting but expect spotty success. (Hey the last three Jennifer Lawrence movies have bombed too! She's not fazed.....)

Mel the success of your "earlier post" likely had more to do with it being a Star Wars collage vs. any random vintage movie posters

Agreed.

By the way, Reddit is brilliant, but it is also not user friendly for the average website user.
Best wishes,
Adam

You ever think less exposure is better. If you are Bruce or Heritage I can see wanting to be on CNN, but if you are buying, why bring in as many competitors as possible. Makes no sense to me.

I'm kind of with Dale here - what's the point of having 10K likes vs actual discussion with a dozen like-minded people?

Also, how can you claim to have the "only surviving original movie poster from 1933s Let's Fall In Love" when Bruce has also sold a copy (which was backed and quite obvious not the same copy)?

It sold for $605.00, back in December of 1992.
