Alright, I'm an attention aficionado, get to start yet another month!

*****

This poster sucks (!) some of the forum dweebs are thinking....

Naw, Jeff Bezos likes it - see Current Releases Chat - and, overanalyzing it, it represents the steep, uncertain path they're taking against the Nixon Administration.

*****

This poster sucks (!) everybody is thinking....

Naw, it's really cool, blue motif/Blue Crush!

No, it really does suck, no good excuse....

*****

I bought The Post and foolishly perused the seller's other 5,000 posters (!) and picked out these three MPs that struck my fancy:

Always wanted to be a surfer, but was landlocked several hours from pitiful East Coast waves....

Goldmember is nice.

Thanks, "recalled" for litigation pressure (clearly copied FYEO), but obviously they are plentiful.

Didn't know it was recalled...!  Was it really?

After all, as per another thread, there had already been by then a number of other 'through the legs' posters.

I know a Freddie Nightmare poster was recalled because it used the gun barrel theme, the gun barrel being copyrighted by then I believe.

Had this arrive shortly after the new Year.

It's a Yugoslavian poster, measuring 24x33, for the 1974 Yugoslavian-produced horror film, Pogled iz potkrovlija (aka View From the Loft). The film looks to have been shot in English and then dubbed, as most of the actors appear to be American or British (including actress Jennie Linden).

The artwork, stark and vivid, gives a real sense of terror and that's what caught my eye. The film might be a real dog, (or not) but I think the poster works well. And tho a foreign poster, as can be seen, it's entirely in English. Also the paper is a thicker paper stock, closer to what a US insert might have been printed on, rather than a OS.

Ok.  And yet it was still called Goldmember...!?

So what precisely was the objection, and the outcome?

Congrats Jeff, that's a great poster for View From the Loft.  I have never seen it before (nor have I ever heard of the movie either), but it is quite striking.

Meanwhile, I just got this small (17 X 22) French poster by the great Boris Grinsson for Plague of the Zombies, a fun Hammer film from 1966.  Not a great find, but I've been meaning to get this one for a while, as I'm a bit of a Hammer completist.

Nice pickup there, Ben. Grinsson, large are small, are always a nice find.  thumbsup.gif

Re: The Loft poster... I know nothing of the film, nor have I ever seen a poster for it before, this one, or any other. While the artwork is not that finessed or refined, something about it reminded me of the Belgian poster art done for The Haunting (its artistic style). In any case, if a poster's imagery or artwork grabs a potential movie viewer, then the poster has done its job.

As I mentioned before.. the movie might be a real POS, but this poster alone has me curious about it, in the least case.

And when it comes to movie posters, that's all that matters. It has succeeded.

Couple more quads that I got this month.

been after this one for ages as it kept escaping my clutches, Finally I have it (not the best of copies but will do for now).

two anime posters

And the two Tom Finland posters that I finally got. In person the printing on these is quite amazing - beautiful grain in the artwork that doesn't come come across in the images but it really is surperb.

Last one for now - same as US version.

Funny Dunkirk and Darkest Hour - 100% British subject areas - are hits in the US and The Post - freedom of press in US - is playing in UK.

*****

Nothing too exceptional here, except poster is B&W and 40yo Jessica Chastain is playing a 26yo (movie does cover the next decade though):

Nice V there, Rich.

Portman looks a bit doggish/rough in the image. Was this done on purpose? Any idea?

Or is it just her "natural" beauty shining thru?  8)

Wow, Mike, looking at the artwork on this poster, up close, the zombie creature really did a number on the right side of the naked damsel's face.

Uber creepy looking creature, too.  >:D

Lucky.  I've been trying to find one that I could afford in a long time.  Alas, no luck.
