Nice Tales set, btw.

So when did MH start their theater setup and when did it end?

How movies got the MH treatment?

Is there any way to know?

T

I believe the earliest set of Bond MH posters was for Diamonds are Forever and the last one was for A View to a Kill. So roughly +/- 1971 to +/- 1985.

I have an MH quad for Live and Let Die and a full set for For Your Eyes Only. I also have a full set for the early 80s Halloween/Assault on Precinct 13 double bill release. Can’t remember if I have others as well...

I think my earliest is a sound of music RR from 66, or 68...

Thanks Paul. I don’t think any of the early Connery Bonds got the MH treatment. Have you heard of a set for OHMSS?

Definitely the top one is, it's from the re-release, or special edition release..

As for the other, it could be, I've not seen a full MH set for the first release

So if I have the two quads for the orginal release and the Special Edition, do you know what the side posters look like at all?  I have a few 20x30in DCs for the first release, but maybe they're not DCs but MH.

They are still DC's due to the size. Do you have pics of them?

...and the less said about your finding the Live let Die and Eyes Only posters, the better!   ;)

Okay, so I want it.  Let's find it, Matt.

Why are MH so difficult to find?  Didn't they print a bunch?  I had never seen Alien before I bought it, big titles like SW and ESB are so hard to find...  Does anyone know how many they printed?  Just a few for specific theaters?

Master Paul?

They were only printed for use at Odeon cinema chains.  I don't know how many theaters Odeon had in the 1970s, but the wikipedia page says they had ~250 theaters as of WWII.  They likely only distributed 1 set per theater so I doubt there were many to begin with, let alone saved.

Yes, only for Odeon Cinemas, but not everyone had them, so a couple of hundred would have been a lot..  they are very scarce.

There's more Star wars than any other set, due to how popular it was, but it seems to be the most desirable of them all. I've never seen the Taxi driver set,  if your going to chase it good luck, it will be a long task...

No, they are usually quite dull, which is why not many survived, usually just photos and text.. I will post some others, but don't expect to be bowled over...

I would have said, lurid.  But not tasteful.

But anyway, please post some more.  Bond aside, I must admit to not remembering many.
