Flying Down to Rio

Grey, do you know if the art used on this Canadian RR is the identical art that was used on the first release US OS? In looking closely, it looks identical (but the printing on the Canadian poster looks to be offset rather than a stone litho).

Any idea if the identical art was used? It doesnt vary enough to look to have been re-drawn, but I don't know & wanted to ask.

Thanks much!

Typically these Canadian posters were copied directly from the US one sheet using a process in which the artwork is identical but done in offset and not stone litho as is the case with this poster.
I'm not aware of the title being reissued in the U.S. and we are unsure whether this is an original release or from late thirties. But we feel better to date later as a precaution.

and that is EXACTLY how it should be
especially when a dealer isn't sure if he has a 1949 or 1962 Belgian Casablanca poster!

I really like this LC for The Mysterious Island, Grey.  Very cool imagery.

I'm not familiar with the movie, but the fact that it was shot in early Technicolor, and stars Lionel Barrymore, has me curious to check it out.
