FS: A mixed lot of posters. Name your price!
« on: October 09, 2017, 02:59:31 PM »
Hello guys, it's been a while.

I'm really needing to let go of a lot of paper so I'll be adding here as much as I can. I'm looking for quick sales as opposed to getting the best possible prices, so please feel free to name your price for anything you'd be interested in.

PM me with any questions and your offers. Don't be shy.

Thanks x

Possession 1981, Thierry hates "Thierry hates "Thierry hates "French Grande""", folded
Close to perfect. Can't find any faults

Max & the Junkmen 1972, East German, folded
Close to perfect. Some minor speckles of discolouration in the background

Videodrome 1983, French med, folded
Very good condition. Has a snipe, some dings around the edges and some marks too (looks to be dried glue?)

Woman in the Dunes 1968, Czech 11x16, unfolded
Excellent. Perfect condition, just some tiny edge wear

400 Blows 1959, US 1 Sheet, folded
Good condition. There's separation in the upper and lower vertical fold and at the lower crossfold, some has been repaired with tape from the back.

A Light in the Window 1927, US 1 Sheet, folded
Lots of little wear and tear throughout the poster. Also creases and minor stains, slight paper loss and edge wear and some fold separation. Has tape on parts of the back. What the poster does have going aside from it's gorgeous deco design is beautiful, rich colour presentation.

The Basha Possession is great.  Great movie too by Zulawski.  I forgot that Rambaldi did the visual effects, right before he created ET.

Cool and the Crazy 1958, US 1 Sheet, on linen
In nice condition. There's little paper loss at the crossfolds and creases, and some little tears in the top of the vertical foldline and in the right end of the top horizontal fold, with a small amount of wear on the other foldlines. There were pinholes and some tears around the edges. The poster is backed well and you can still see signs of the defects when examined.

Excellent condition. Some minor scuffs.

Picnic at Hanging Rock R92, Polish 27x38, unfolded
Excellent condition. Very minor wear.

Very good condition. There are some light lines and creases around the edges.

ladeda, do you have any ballpark price ranges for anything you have listed for sale here? (or hope to get close to)?

I'm asking in case you might be getting offers that are way outside what you might have been thinking for some of them.

Not really. Just asking to be reasonable. I'm happy to offer them at anything not ridiculous and am especially generous if one is interested in buying multiple. thumbsup.gif

His Glorious Night 1929, US Title card
Magnificent original condition. Some minor dings around the edges, and a tiny tear in the bottom corner. Some smudges around the edges.

John Gilbert swiftly went from matinee idol, the post-Valentino silent star to becoming unemployable and dead by 36. His Glorious Night was his first talkie. The long-standing rumour is that Louis B. Mayer had Gilbert's voice tinkered with to a higher pitch to ruin him. Whatever the truth, His Glorious Night was the beginning of the end for Gilbert. He followed up with a series of flops between bouts of depression and alcoholism. He showed glimpses of brilliance with Downstairs and Queen Christina and with the help of Marlene Dietrich attempted to come back as a character actor, but Hollywood had moved on and disposed of Gilbert. He succumbed to alcoholism and died of a heart attack.

A tiny bit of quite significant early Hollywood history.
