thanks bud

4 times or so a year, as studio annuals came out, some studios had the annuals bound inside Trade magazines, like Motion Picture News.
That's what both are, the magazines with the annuals bound in.
sometimes during the summer, the magazines would have one-by-one all the studio annuals in sequential issues for about 12 weeks

the magazines are difficult enough to find. this is the one Metropolis is in

Thanks. Good to know.
I guess a more recent similar pub would be a Variety ad supplement. But not as cool.

I've had quite a few of the magazines with the annuals in them. Unfortunately, too many people take them apart to remove the ads, which I only do when they are damaged. I may take the Metropolis one apart (though I've had it for years, so who knows when that would ever be), but the Kong one is a NM issue, so, no. Naturally, because of this, the bound issues are becoming more rare all the time.

Been a bit since I posted an update so I've got a few new ones below. Recently added a handful of paper to my Corman collection, some of'em are below and some I'll post in the near future.

Thanks for looking.

Walkabout: An under seen classic by Roeg, give it a watch if you haven't had  the opportunity yet.

Apache Woman ('55): Before Corman started his run at low budget horror/sci-fi films in the the 50's, he did a string of Western's, including this one. His fourth film, starring Lloyd Bridges.

Pirhanha: Joe Dante film / Corman produced

Jackson County Jail: Corman produced

Bloody Mama: Corman directed/produced with Shelly Winters, Tommy Lee Jones, and Bruce Dern

For recent poster, this is the one which really caught my eye,
The new film Mother! by director Darren Aronofsky starting Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem and Ed Harris.

If I am to interpret the meaning of the image,I would explain it as "I am your mother and I am giving you all my heart.

That Mother! art by James Jean is a showstopper.
Might be a bit gory for my taste, but it gets your attention immediately.

"Children of the Damned" (1964) is a rather disappointing sequel to the excellent "Village of the Damned" (1960), which you should try to watch if you haven't already.  No need to watch the sequel unless you're a completist like me!  Also, you can skip the terrible 1995 remake of "Village" by John Carpenter.

Off topic.  Sailing with friends as we speak.  Just saw a pod of about 200 dolphins dancing around our boat.  First time I've seen so many.  Babies too.  Quite awesome.  Just thought I'd share.

Okay, back to posters :)

So true, Benjamin.

Maybe bronze the DVD/cover and it would make a nice door stop.  8)

And is Mother a painted poster too?  Or just manipulation of images to create a look of paint.

All to say, photo art of a heart-less Jennifer might be a bit too horrific.  Even if a horror film.

I believe there is a pressbook out there. there is a half sheet and window card known several lobby cards.

some more pics of stuff, not necessarily this month's pick-ups, just finally took pictures

here is a pic from 6000 years ago when dinosaurs and man lived side by side. I have it on good authority that this is an actual photo, but it has been colorized.

the key to this card is the gal in the back. It's also directed by Tod Browning

Hammett

thanks to my pal Sean

and.. a couple Lon Bombs for ya
