True, but I move too much to worry about them.  Plus, a potential buyer will always have to worry about the humidity level where he/she lives, which might lessen their value over time.

Yes, I got worried when I first heard about premature deterioration in lenticulars. The half dozen I have are all fine (oldest is 24 years old) so I suspect it is a heat/humidity issue.

Mark

it would be my suspicion that different methods were used to manufacture them also. As they moved along, they probably found some adhesives worked better than others, lasted longer, weren't caustic or have chemical reactions over time that deteriorated the plastics

I have a 40x60 for Zathura. It's been in the warehouse for 10 years (hot in summer, cold in winter) and I see no deterioration, though I sure would like to see someone say "how much" and "Great, I'll come pick it up!"

Yup you nailed it...good points. I know they used adhesive that cures under UV light. I wonder if the leaky glues are not that type and are less resilient? I also know of about 100's of Lilo and Stitch (thin high LPI) that were produced with a bad batch of adhesive that were tossed by a collector. The other ones he bought in a lot were just fine. Rich is it 40x60 or 48x72? Just double checking. Some of the inks are water soluble as well. Even the white backing with get a little tacky if you were to wipe it off with a wet paper towel.

Yes, flat. They are too thick to roll anyway, but they all look fine.

Cool glad to hear it. I meant sometimes people have them standing up leaning on a wall etc...which is no good for lents.

Mel very beautiful poster. Your helpers are going to catch the collecting bug seeing all your new posters coming in.

Looking at this great poster it came into my mind that someone should really make space travel sci-fi movies set in the past - but made with the best modern technology.
