I'd imagine you could move all your photos to another host but use the same folder structure. Then on APF there must be for admins a search and replace function to bulk change URLs to the new location.

Seems the issues remain and are only getting worse.

Someone posted this entry with contact info... but stated he's not sure if the numbers are still current or not. Also, when I went to log onto the site last night, the layout was all messed up. I thought it might be my browser version or something, but again, other blog entries indicate the same "mucked up" website when people have tried to log on. Maybe PB is on the way out...

Here's a link to page 5 of the comments blog (july 1st).. you can view up thru page 8 by clicking on the "next page" arrow:

http://blog.photobucket.com/status/comment-page-5/#comments

"Photobucket Contact Information

(303) 228-5139
(303) 226-6800
Photobucket.com, Inc.
PO Box 13003
Denver, CO 80201-3203

Mr. Shawn White, Owner/Manager
Mr. Stephen J Young, Sr. Director of Business and Legal Affairs

I found the above information on the Better Business Bureau
Not sure if it’s current but you can give it a try.

Photobucket was owned by News Corporation, ie, Fox, ie, Rupert Murdock but was sold to a company called Ontela. The Ontela web site no longer exists but that could be because Ontela changed it’s name to Photobucket Inc. We all know how difficult it is to get in touch with a real person at Photobucket! Hopefully the info from the BBB site above is accurate and currant.

As of today I do not even have access to my images so I can download them. These images are my property. I trusted Photobucket to keep them safe. Now all I want is to get them back.

I am not over the storage limit or even the bandwidth limit as per the original TOU. As for the NEW TOU I am fully within them with the exception of some being linked to my Profile. I cannot correct that if I cannot have access to my images!

Hopefully this is a temporary problem and access will be forthcoming."

I'd imagine you could move all your photos to another host but use the same folder structure. Then on APF there must be for admins a search and replace function to bulk change URLs to the new location.

Good news is that images can still be seen by right clicking on the image and open it on new tab.

Your suggestion of moving them using same folder structure; etc. and then do a search/replace is a good idea.  The search/replace can even be done directly on database so the difficult task is to pick the images...

Totally possible with some script-server code (PHP, ASP), here it is explained:
a) Use PHP to search on your database and get all photobucket URLs, automatically save them in a raw file
b) Then for each URL, do a PHP CURL call to download the images and automatically save it on your server (using the same structure or another structure). Then put the new URLs next to old one in the raw file (use a distinctive separator)
c) Use PHP to replace old URLs with new URLs in all post

Job is done.

It might be a smart idea for anyone that used PB to log on and save/download copies of everything they uploaded to the site, Just in case the Bucket decides to pull the plug and fold at some point.

That way, pics are saved and no one is caught empty handed, photo-wise.

It is wacky and you seem to be lucking out. I dont get it either. I know all my pics have vanished, with the posts just being blank and void of anything.

That your account is not the $499.00/year setup that allows 3rd party hosting is quirky, for sure.

Every other "upgrade plan" or even the basic free plan or the one where someone pays a very small charge to be "ad-free" does not offer 3rd party hosting, per PB's description. So you seem to have fallen thru some crack. And in a good way.

Photobucket still works for me, although uploading photos is a test of patience.  The site has way too many popups/spam/crap that nearly shut my computer/phone down for a few minutes, every time I try to upload a photo.  starz.gif

I think they make the site barely usable, as they realize a lot of people will just pony up and put their credit card on file for the (current) price of $2.50/month for the luxury of no ads.  Who knows if/when that cost will change, though.

Brandon, is yours a basic, free account like we all have been using?

If so, its just a matter of time before you also see the odometer where your pix now are, Im willing to wager.

They caught up with you, too, Brandon.  moron1 Your photo in the other thread ("we live in interesting times"), is also the infamous PB odometer.

Apparently I spoke too soon.  All the photos I've posted here are now an odometer image.  Wow.   faint2.gif

Joined Flickr, uploaded image, could not locate its JPEG URL, Googled "Flickr URL," 5000+ search results, exactly ZERO JPEG URL location solutions worked.

So Flickr sucks ass too.....

If you navigate to your photo, you should see these options in the bottom right:

If you click the arrow in the middle (share), it'll give you the image URL (click the BBcode option from the menu on the top)

I think I prefer Imgur to Flickr as it's a bit simpler, but as Flickr is owned by Yahoo, I think it's more likely to hang around longer than Imgur.

Already tried that, doesn't work (for me at least). It gives me a useless link:

See prior post.

How can I find of JPEG link?

I think you're at the 'Album' level - try clicking on an individual image, then clicking the arrow

Try this:

1) When you go to the site, click 'You' (top left menu) then select 'Photostream' from the drop down menu
2) In your Photostream, click the image you want to share
3) Click the arrow, do you get the link under the BBCode area?

When PB decided to take the money or have people run, the first thing I had to do was "re-host" the APF banner, as it also had vanished from the forum header.

I moved it to my old flickr acc't and it immediately worked (and appeared) like a charm.

So in comparison to PB, they are wunderbahr.  thumbsup.gif

It worked great!

Not really. Nothing in my Photostream.

It's all too absurdly complicated for me.

I just wanna right click, copy image URL, and proceed apace.

I guess I'll stick with PB until it turns into a.....
