Son of Dracula 75th Anniversary Today!
« on: November 05, 2018, 07:56:29 PM »
Happy 75th anniversary to the original release of the Son of Dracula!  Released on November 5, 1943, and featuring the first transformation on film of Dracula turning into a bat and also turning to mist (thanks, John P. Fulton!). Donovan's Brain writer Curt Siodmak wrote the story, and his brother Robert directed. Lon Chaney, Jr. plays Count Alucard (did Curt really originally write that?!) and he is near and dear to ole Okie's heart!  Why, you may ask?  Chaney, Jr. was born in Oklahoma when his parents were passing through on the traveling show circuit.  What could be better than that!?  Well, I'm still looking for Alucard's head to complete this three sheet!  Wouldn't it be great to unite his head back to his chin on this diamond anniversary night!
