I saw that too, but it being a Paramount picture, with top stars, yet no reference to that studio (unlike others from that decade) caught my eye and made me wonder.

To me, "sherlocking" is also such a fun part of this hobby.  sherlockholmes.gif

Yeah, I don't do much of that.  Let me know if you find something.

I founds 2 other styles/sizes of French poster for Second Chorus. Both also show R.A.C. as the distributor, and also lack credits and the Paramount logo. Does this mean that R.A.C. distributed the first release of this Paramount flick in France in 1947 for some reason? Or are these also RR posters? Maybe or maybe not, but still checking it out.

The research continues.  Spying.gif

No, you gave me my answer.  They wouldn't print 3 posters, including a double panel, for a rerelease.

 thumbup..

Good to know. Case file seems closed.

Maybe, as others have mentioned, because the film was not very good, that by the time it was released in France in 1947, Paramount opted to let RAC distribute it on their behalf, without their name mentioned on the posters at all?  dontknow.gif

I'm stoked to win this one, that I didn't know existed - a lightning style, Japanese video B1.  8)

Thanks. Yeah, it's not in too bad of condition. A few rows of dings from a paper thin tube, but I expect that kinda thing nowadays.

In any case, this artwork has been on my want list for quite a while and I'm really happy to pick up this version of it.

A little while ago, I was looking at the lightning style one sheet authentication thread. A lot of info. there. I wonder if there's any updates anyone can share there.  Unfortunately the guy who started the thread, AgentProvocateur, and other contributors there aren't active here anymore.

That Evil Dead II quad is amazing.

I'd seen the reprints of it before and never realized it was based on an actual poster. Just always thought it was fan art or something - until I got into this hobby haha.

Well we spent the weekend there, selling our prints, helped out a bit by bringing his posters to the convention centre.
Spent the evenings in the bar chatting with him and a few others, pretty sure if I change my mind he'll do it for me! Question is do I spend the time getting it linen backed?

Aside from fold creases, is there any damage, tears, pinholes etc on it? Looks to be in great shape. Maybe try The Wait & Weight™ method for a while to flatten the fold lines, before you decide to put it on linen?

Just a few pin holes in it. It's been flattened for a while by the looks of it. Need to have a better look. Quoted €160 to linen back it. Not sure it's worth it really.
Guessing it will never warrant that extra cash.

Is that 160 GBP price a quote from a UK-based backer?

I certainly wouldn't back it, it looks fine as is, though sure would be something with a signature on it....   wynk

Tho with it being the artist, would make it like many posters that have the signature or name printed on the front.

Got to be the front..

I have a Raiders signed by Brian Bysouth, and he signed the back... it's not quite the ticket having to turn it over, and it won't frame right...

Get him to sign over the printed signature? That sounds like a plan.
