Seeing an 8 mm film reel that we rented from our local library, entitled "Highlights from the Phantom of the Opera" (from Blackhawk Films), greatly inspired me and getting into the line of work that I do. I was 13 when we borrowed that movie to take with us on a 3 day, President's Day weekend in Wheeling, WVA.

Thank you, Lon Chaney.  cheers

And me, at age 17 for Halloween:

Good make-up Jeff.    Did you ever post that to famous monsters, seem to recognise it?

Thanks, Paul.. and no, I never sent that pic to FM. In hindsight, maybe I should have. Who knows.. FJA might have liked it.

That IS a great makeup job there, Jeff. It's also nice to learn the origins, so to speak, of your Erik1925 moniker. Cool story about your borrowed 8mm film experience.

Thanks Shawn. When watching that highlights reel, I was blown away by the sets, the detail, the lighting, and, of course, this was the flick that introduced me to Chaney. His Phantom makeup mesmerized, considering it was done with nothing more than nose putty, greasepaint, skull wig/cap and applying highlights and shadows to create that effect.  notworthy.gif
