Don't think there's a chat room where that can be done, but you can with Yahoo Messenger either with one person or through their conference option

I chated once to a friend in USA via Yahoo messanger, and it freaked me out, I was shy for her to hear my accent and when she spoke (from the deep south) I FREAKED even more.

I log on often but there's usually no one there.
It would be nice if there was something like an 'occupied' flag, so we would know if anyone is available to chat.
Guess we'll have to invite via PM when people are online.  Or set a time?
Any thoughts?

Most of time the chat room gets going by sheer chance.  If it's empty, no one sticks around for long, so when the next person logs in it's empty.  Some kind of indicator to show who's in the chat room would be very helpful.  I've had a good time meeting and talking to forumites in there so far.  I think it was a great addition  thumbup

I agree a feature that showed who was actually in the forum before signing in (ala NSFGE) would be great.

That way I would know if there was anyone actually worth talking to in there ;)
