Ready to store my posters better.
« on: January 11, 2017, 06:00:51 PM »
Hello

I have about 50+ original posters now from some of my favorite 80s films most all of which are 27x41 inches or smaller. I have the folded ones tri folded on a shelf and all the other rolled in a tube. I want to start storing them all flat together which as i understand it is the preferred route. I wanted to use a poster box with tissue paper in between the posters.

Poster Box:

Tissue Paper:

The tissue paper is UNbuffered, should it be buffered and i would like the size to be the same as the poster. Can anyone direct to the correct paper to use and or let me know if this set up isn't a very good idea?

thanks
D.

Good to see you back, Darian. And both of those choices would work great. The tissue paper you linked to is acid-free, which is key, especially for long term storage.

And as a side note, Ive watched a number of your movie (dvd) review vids and poster clips on youtube. They are great and a lot of fun to watch. And your cat is one BIG boy.  ;D

Thanks

Im trying to have a little fun in the youtube world and express myself. It makes me feel good that you've seen a few of my videos.

I want to do an update on my posters but i need to do some research on them so that i can actually have something intelligent to say something about them.

Anyone interested in seeing what Erik is talking about:

I remember that film.  Saw it first release.  It came out right after jaws and it really was a ripoff in the forest.  We used to call it PAWS.

Cool poster. Enjoyed the Horror Poster Collection pt. 1.
You definitely put in a lot of work on your videos. Well done.
Hitchcock is aptly named. Cool cat.

Good to see you back on the boards.
Like Jason above, I just watched your poster collection part 1.

Yeah part two! All the rolled stuff. Will be easy to get footage once those puppies lay out flat for a while. Good luck!

Thanks for all the comments guys. Here is part 2 of may folded horror posters. I need to do a part 3 too because it's grown quite a bit since i filmed this. I tried to present the posters in a stylized manner, let me know if you think it works.

Thanks for sharing Part 2, Darian.
I like the music, but the visual effects might take a bit away from viewing the posters.

Now, Part 3!

Thanks for watching everyone. I may have went overboard on the vintage effect but, i just wanted to make it appeal to more people. It's also fun to make all that stuff and i just love the film grain and scratches when i watch a movie these days.

Grizzly or Paws for example is very strong with the grindhouse feel that i love.

p.s.

If anyone ever comes across a Critters or Hobgoblins poster please let me know. Ebay has the critters one for 70 dollars but i don't think that is a fair price.

thanks
D

The FX look cool, Darian. A vast majority of vids are FX-free and the old film style grain and look adds character. Nice touch.  thumbsup.gif
