French film poster - 80cm x 120cm ???
« on: January 04, 2017, 09:24:40 AM »
I've come across a French film poster that is 80cm x 120cm, and its a peculiar size for me. Can anyone shed any light on it?

So that equates to about 31.5 x 47 inches.

According to LAMP, they describe this size as a "Half Grande":

perhaps less with movie posters, but that is a really common size for old french war posters, advertising etc.  I would call it a french 1 sheet.

Hello

Commun size during the 30's
The particularity of them is that they usually are for re-release...during the 50's 60's
But there is also some exception that there were printed instead the 120 x 160 (47 x 63) during the 40's/ 50's. I have one exemple of this for Peking express in 1951
