That is just glorious.

Can I ask if you're going to do anything with it?  Conservation, backing, framing?  I think the colours deserve to come out and would great cleaned up.  My two cents'.

I'm in two minds what to do with this, someone mailed me after I put the photo up with a good offer so the dealer in me says move it on.
However, the collector in me says keep it, love it and restore it. It is pretty captivating so I'm really not sure.

Nice bonus when I found out the artist on it.

I'd keep this bad boy.
I've always loved Eric Pulver's style and he knocked it out of the park with this Robin Hood design.

It's been a busy month, waiting for a batch to arrive tomorrow but this High and Low 1977 re-release came in 2 weeks ago, it's BIG (ish)

How big is this Kurosawa?
I see so little paper for this title.

This oddity was languishing on ebay for damn nigh on a year (or more maybe).
I finally pulled the trigger when I saw it now had 7 watchers and I was running out of time.
Only movie poster art I have seen from Milo Manara, the master behind the graphic novel the movie is based upon.
Its from a live-action 1985 film and it is 60x80 cm (23.5x31.5 in).

Hi Ted, it's 145cm x 102cm (57 inches x 40 inches), the B2 re-release version I often see but I'd never seen one this size.

Thank you, gentlemen.
Here's a few others I just received from Bruce and Company at emovieposter.com.

With Halloween just around the corner, I could not resist this Italian 1p for the 1976 re-release of The Devil Bat (1940).
Its a cool yarn starring Bela Lugosi as a mad scientist with an overgrown bat.

More paper for The Shout, this one being an Italian 1p

and a rather cheeky 1p for Weekend Warriors (1986)

Ooops... that's Eric Pulford (not Pulver).
My bad.

I do have one Pulford poster -- this UK one sheet.
Man was a genius.

A 25x40 Russian poster for Vedma (The Witch), a 31 min. 1958 Russian tele-film
based on a short story by Anton Chekhov.
I'd not heard of this one before, but I was captivated by the art.

Thanks guys.
I think I've already scored more quality paper this September than I did the entire previous year.
But all good things must come to an end...
Hopefully, not too soon.

Hi all,

Earlier this year I commissioned (through a mutual friend) Tongdee to reimagine me a poster for one of my favourite films, Predator (1987). The original film was released in Thailand at a time when the use of painted artwork was being phased out and the original Thai poster is a photographic design that was based on the US one sheet.

Because the original photographic poster was comparatively disappointing, I was excited to see what Tongdee would create. I gave him free reign with the exception of a couple of things I was keen to see (the iconic thermal-vision being one) and after a few weeks was sent a sketch with his idea for the layout. After requesting a couple of very minor tweaks I gave the go ahead and Tongdee began working on the actual painting. Last week I received the finished article and I’m very happy with the result. I love the layout and the use of colours, including the incorporation of the thermal-vision Predator hand. I also love the artistic licence he took on a few elements which was typical of his paintings from the original period of him working on film posters. If you're a fan of the film you'll spot these tweaks quickly.

The poster is just over American one sheet size and I plan to get it framed as soon as possible. If you visit my site I’ve tried to take as many pictures as possible so you can see the details, and you’ll be able to see the grain from the canvas onto which Tongdee painted. Also check out the pictures of the artist in his studio.

Great Birds/Psycho, Chris! Cool layout and I like the bat imagery in the lower left corner, too.

Ed- that original piece is spectacular. And what a score to have Tongdee agree to the commissioned art piece.

He did the film proud with his very identifiable style and that piece would be worthy of gracing any museum setting.

Bravo on having the work done and once up and framed, will be a highlight of your collection, no doubt.  notworthy.gif
