I actually do need to buy one in order to convert some of my old tapes to DVD/Blu-Ray digital files.  I have like 8 hours of MTV recordings from when Kurt Cobain died in '94 that I recorded that I'd love to watch again, plus some other odds and ends.

My current one is still running fine, though I'm still thinking about getting another as I have about 2000 tapes.... :-\
