King Kong vs. Godzilla, Thai style!  How do you like the guy falling from Kong's grasp? This poster is a good example of having the Thai/Buddhist Era year in the bottom right corner: 2506.  Thus, 2506-543=1963.

100 Monsters. This Japanese movie from 1968 had the same image used on the original Japanese poster and on this Thai release poster.  Awesome image for any country, eh?

I really like this Thai painted poster for Jackie Chan's very enjoyable Drunk Monkey in the Tiger's Eye!  I highly recommend this movie.

Here's  the Thai original poster for the 1964 Tokyo Olympiad movie/documentary that came out in 1965.  I really enjoy the large image of Robert Lee "Bullet Bob" Hayes on this one.  At one time he was consideredsidered the fastest man alive.  Some say with all things being equal, he is the fastest of all time

Adding to the Thai Chidorah and Godzilla movie posters. A lot of english description (for thai movie) although likely to have been translated from Japanese to Thai and then English so makes for amusing reading.

Fire Walker 1987 by another great Thai Artist - Kwow. I don't know much about Kwow but will try and get some more info. Another prolific Thai poster artist worth keeping an eye out.

I like this poster a lot, it is based on Toho's International B1 poster.
And of course it should be noted that this was for the re-release of the film, not the original 60s release.

I have this poster, too. The art by Noriyoshi Ohrai is outstanding, and the translated text at the bottom just makes this poster! I decided to go for a copy for BOTH those very reasons. Great stuff!

While we are talking about Thai Godzilla posters: I do not own Thai posters for either of the first two Godzilla films (Godzilla and Godzilla Raids Again) and am a willing and able buyer if anyone has one or both they would like to sell.

You sure are right, ab8mf!  The first time I saw this poster in Thailand, I loved the image, and also enjoyed a good laugh as well.  You just made me laugh again!  Oh man, it's a very cool and unintentionally funny poster.  Okie

Hi ab8mf! To compliment your great Fire Walker poster, here's my favorite poster by Kwow -that I have- from The Killing Fields.  Thailand was probably the closest this movie ever officially got to Cambodia.  From the signature information,  Kwow painted it in 1985 and the poster is dated 2528 -543 = 1985 as well.  Okie

The Secret Rivals!  Great Silver Fox performance by Hwang Jang Lee.  I've thought this art is by Piak Poster (Somboonsuk Niyomsiri) and one or more of his studio collaborators.  Check out that signature closely and let me know what you think guys and gals.  Okie

Space Amoeba Thai painted poster based on the Japanese poster design.  Thai/Buddhist Year listed as 2513.  So, 2513 - 543 = 1970.

I Bombed Pearl Harbor (Storm Over the Pacific). A simply beautiful Thai painted poster.  Starring the incredible Yosuke Natsuki and Toshiro Mifune.  My buddy who was in the US Air Force said he saw one of the original WWII Japanese pilots who was also in this movie speak during a presentation on Pearl Harbor:  Amazing!  Released in Thailand in 2505 - 543 = 1962.

I'm not exactly sure what the original Japanese name is for this movie from TOHO.  This Thai poster says the name is Man's Paradise.  I didn't see a name like that in the TOHO movie list.  Does someone else know the original name for this movie?  It was released in Thailand in 2507 - 543 = 1964.  Okie

Conan the Barbarian. Another great Kwow piece. Check out the detail of Arnie wrestling the beast right above the signature. I just love the extra embellishments of Thai posters.
