I either do not have the rights or do not know how to change a thread title, but his last name is spelled PANUMAS, no R.

Here's the original artwork for the DANCES WITH WOLVES Thai poster. The art (not including frame) is 3 feet wide by 4 feet high. It was painted on two boards which was common for 2-sheet Thai posters.

That is an incredible piece really like it. Doesn't look that big in the picture but I bet it looks amazing on the wall framed.

Let's just say it was a contact from someone that happened at the right time. I'm just happy Tongdee knows I have some of his pieces and that he saw how I preserved them. They were NOT preserved well when I got them. They had actually STAPLED the original artwork of a few of his originals onto wood frames. Idiots.

Congrats again, Mike.

But stapled to wood frames? Yikes.  :o

The guy behind "Film On Paper" met Tongdee I think.

I saw some interviews also on YouTube but sadly I can't find them anymore.
But I found this video and it is great - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FMyy2OVqYM

Here are some Thai article about Tongdee

Thanks for sharing the link. It's fascinating to hear the artist speak about his process. And what a talent he is. His oil portraits also so his tremendous skill.  notworthy.gif

Hi MWright,. Yes, the Dances with Wolves original you have is beautiful work. So nice to see It.  I was fortunate a few years ago to  acquire a Tongdee original and I'll post it tomorrow when I can get a picture with good lighting.

Tongdee original painting for Return of the Living Dead!  When you look at Tongdee's skills with a painting as beautiful and inspiring as Dances With Wolves (amazing pleasure to see it on APF!) and then this great comedic monster extravaganza for Return of the Living Dead, you can really see the spectrum of Tongdee's mastery of poster design and ability to make people want to see the movie regardless of genre. I have been lucky to spend quite some time in Thailand and what a pleasure it has been to see not only Tongdee's posters for Western country movies, but also Eastern country movies as well.   Man, I love those Thai night markets and the poster goodies laid out on the ground on a lucky night of hunting!
