I asked my other half what poster she would like to get and she said the Nightmare quad. Trust her to pick a rare one!

I did find one for 650GBP  :o

How often do these come up??

thanks steve

Thats a ridiculous price as I am sure you know. I think a value range of £150 - £200 for a folded one and £200 -£250 for an unfolded one would be realistic.

Yeah I thought it was pretty OTT myself  :) I actually thought a rolled one would be worth a bit more than you predicted. I wont say what I'd pay for it incase I end up bidding against someone on here for one!  :)

And now that it has been shown and talked about online, my thinking is that it would probably sell for way more than Mark's 2010 prices.

Just checked Bruce's past auctions, and one sold in '13 for $900 ( laugh1).  Folded and linenbacked...  puke

I think Charlie was the one that did the linenbacking job on the one that Bruce sold.

i have one, its got a bit of special provenance as it was hanging in the office of Palace Pictures who were the UK distributors of the movie. Its been card backed, but never been folded. I got that and the Evil Dead (again in the offices) from a lady who worked there in the 80's and she even gave me a letter of provenance on Palace Pictures headed paper.
I suspect its going to be harder to sell as its backed, but i love the provenance!

ya I came across yours while perusing.  The backing is a negative as it costs quite a bit to ship to me as well.

Silly me.... I meant to send a pm to fallenangel but accidentally posted in the thread.  probably shooting myself in the foot. :)

Oh well but i did manage to find another Friday the 13th #1 quad.

How was that quad attached to the backing card or board? Hopefully not with some non-water soluble based spray adhesive...  Doh.gif

Any idea what was used to attach this?

I'm still not a fan of that Nightmare poster.  I guess I'm not a fan of that (can't remember his name) artist who did it.  My Bieber poster is so much better.

I have no idea how its backed, and to be honest, i cant see a reason to remove it, unless you were going to linen back it, which would sort of be pointless!

I am sure that in the mid eighties when this poster was in a frame at palace pictures no one gave a shit about what type of glue was was used and whether it would put of a poster collector 20 years into the future!

Its been a hard one to price, great provance, never folded but backed into thin cardboard, I have a goodfellas one sheet thats exactly the same that i got from the offices of Sky
