Don Post Darth Vader Mask (1977)
« on: November 24, 2015, 07:45:57 PM »
I ordered this in late 1977/early 1978, from Warren Magazine's The Captain Company, (of "Famous Monsters of Filmland" fame). Made by Don Post Studios in CA and licensed thru 20th Century Fox.  The studio name and year are molded into the plastic, as well as what is printed on the white label.

And I still have it in the original box it was shipped in, with the mailing label attached.

Brandon, I remember seeing that sticker, too, as a kid, and laughing. Like who would wear a plastic helmet like that for safety? But i guess it was a way of Don Post Studios legally protecting themselves from the potential "idiotas" out there, who might use it for something like that.  hitself

rofl1  It wouldn't surprise me if someone tried.  I've seen guys using $1.00 sunglasses for welding, among other terrible attempts at safety.

Anyway, it's awesome that you picked up that helmet at the time, and kept it with the box for all these years.
