Poll: Who has found something through the Want ads?

Not to make a disservice of anything; I too have two ongoing and oft bumped Wants threads just in case...

I was wondering if there was a results tally that could be gained from this service.  For my part, I have had many offers of this and that, but only once bought a Saint Lobby Card from someone in the Saint category.

I only ask as I reckon the forum participants are already so plugged into the usual outlets that information from elsewhere is a rarity.

Please prove me wrong.

Well this forum is primarily collectors who collect mainstream posters.  It's not surprising you wouldn't get results for requests for uncommon stuff. I put up a few want ads years ago and never got much of a response, so I quite posting. Also, I agree with Thierry.  Putting up a want ad for an obscure poster can draw unwanted competition.

I was after a poster in very good condition about 4 years back and thought I'd try it, only had one response, but it ended with what I was after.

I have put up craigslist ads to buy stuff but never get anything good offered

Psss...not troubled with competition . I have advertised openly what I want. So far I got 2 posters...
