Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.
Happening to me all day, I reload again and again and sometimes I get it to load. Like right now, Ill bet it takes ten tries to make this post though

Well it don't like me either, I've been getting it most of yesterday and today...

Not saying this is directly related to the issue, but don't forget this version of SMF is old, and without an upgrade it will stop working correctly one day. You might think it works now so why not forever, well, other software that supports this forum software is being constantly updated, such as the server operating system and each time it does the risk of an incompatibility is there. Also dont forget the security fixes that have been rolled out in more recent releases which may protect your information better and prevent intrusions into the database or frontend. This version (1.1.20) has been out of date for a long time now and the advice to upgrade to version 2 must have been about a year or 2 ago by now. Just saying dont be surprised if the site goes offline for a week or more at some point.

Anyone having problems previewing their posts? It just hangs there trying to preview it for me (in firefox). As this is the 2nd computer I have had this happen on Im thinking maybe it is not just me?

Ya months. When needed I Draft a pm and use the preview function there. It works in messages still :/

Yeah Steve, that preview function stopped working maybe 5-6 months ago. It was random and I have no clue why either, especially since the PM preview works...
A quirk? or maybe it's gremlins... >:D

As of today, the preview option worked perfectly for me on ever occasion I used it. I did copy my post before hand just to be safe.

This was the message I got last week, right before I was unable to connect wirelessly, for a couple days. It will be sussed out, that's for sure.
