Aragorn's sword Andúril, made for Viggo Mortensen, sold for $437,000 inc. the BP

Ridiculous. (In my humble opinion of course)

Saruman's staff, in person, looked rather rough and "unpolished." The top looked to be made of painted resin. But like any prop, (unless it's a hero prop that is to be shot up close and in detail), there sometimes isn't a whole lot of finesse work done to items like this.
The sword, tho, looked to have been made by a proper blade/knife/sword shop or foundry. It was seen in closeup, in the film, so had to contain the detail and "presentation" ability.
