I don't usually collect many advertising posers, but I couldn't pass up these Hungarians.... and interesting juxtaposition if nothing else.

I like these far more than their movie posters...

These are awesome especially the radio one. What a cool concept. Did it really take 7 days to post something in November 2014? What's up APF?

These are in the Advertising Poster forum, not Movie Posters... If that explains.

Thanks, happy Foggy Friday

I can scarcely tell you how delighted I am to have uncovered this Viennese delight. After a two week wait, convinced that it had been eaten up by the postal service, it finally arrived...

Do you know what year that's from?

Based on the cars I'd guess 30s?

I found some museum archive records in Austria and Germany and 1937 seems to be the date in question. I'd been after this particular image for about a decade and couldn't believe my luck when one finally turned up deep inside Eastern Europe. I was initially unsure about buying sight unseen - especially as it was from a private individual rather than an auction house - but it is absolutely 100% pukka. Pleased as punch!
Lovely Philips poster by the way - very ethereal.

Congrats on finding this, monocle, especially it being from eastern Europe and you locating it like you did.
It looks to be be in great condition, too!
cheers

Maybe you should have outed it to the forum first. I'm sure that you wouldn't have paid more...

Now that is funny. Quite made my breakfast! But I'll kindly pass on that suggestion...
Actually Jeff it all made sense. The chap who had it was based in what used to be part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. I'm sure that visits to the Imperial city would have de rigueur for the well-to-do and indeed those with large businesses, hence the poster surviving it's time there.
