I wish I had more, but they just take a little too much room in the flat file.

T,

You can always make room by sending me the Star Wars and Josey posters. Be happy to take the other too if you really need the extra room.  ;D

We have been, for 20 years at least, the source of some of the best U.S. six sheets in the USA.  Here is an example currently on our website.

You be UNdead and INsane.  Technically you're right.  I just thought I'd inject some six sheetism after seeing that nice MAN OF A LA MANCHA, an unfairly ignored title if there ever was one.  I think that people don't like competitive dealers sniping at one another all the time and posting eight times a day.  But if I have a good photo, I don't know why I should have to post it anonymously in this section just because I make my living selling this material.  But if you guys think I cheated, just know that I want to PLAY BY THE RULES.  So I can just slink off to the dealer section where the billionaires hang out.

That tag in big colourful bold lettering, my friend, is an advertisement any which way you look at it.  Having said that, you are forgiven (by me anyways) and all is good.   thumbup

Wasn't sneaky at all I know blind people that would call that an ad. Personally I would love to see every single poster you have for sale or not. Just skip the big ad and big lettering and of course the link back to the sales site in the images and all over the place and walla you are just posting as a collector. Leave it in your signature the way it is now is fine. I love to see the posters, just not the ads. That's my 2 cents and the end of my objections.Awesome posters though.

Years ago I was thought of as nuts for aspiring to the "six-sheet dealer".  So, over the years we were offered quite a few.  They have been good to us overall, although we no longer "specialize" in these.
Large format posters are, in a word, awesome.

I agree six is only bested byt he three's. A spectacular collection! I am envious and would love a few more myself especially the Mummy followed closely by North by Northwest and Them but would be happy with all.

Jedgerly, the Star Wars looks to be an 8p if my guess is right, 118" x 156". I have a couple of the 2p's, roughly 58" x 76"  but they are only 2 side by side pieces.

yes - star wars is an 8-panel - serious boatload of paper.  Only have a few so I manage with 6shts.

As far as my collecting style, I rarely go after any specific genre...I'll collect if I like the film, image, or both.  While my interests primarily focus on 3's/6's - if a 1sh has a better image, condition, or backed/not backed, my focus will shift.

I as well used to take heat for collecting large format - not so much anymore.  Until 3-5 yrs ago - 3's/6's would close at 50-75% of the hammer of a 1sht - not seeing this much any longer.   My opinion here but Kirby's collection of large format is off the chart and will be one of significant importance as time goes on.

Friends and I had a long conversation around the bar at Cinevent in May -  they had to come to terms they missed opportunities rejecting large format paper.   I thought about the 1shts, lobbies, other posters I passed on too focused on large format and now realize there were missed opportunities by myself, as well.

That's what's great about this hobby - with only a small number of collectors, there's a seriously diverse style of collecting out there.   I have friends who won't touch a 1/2 or insert.  Others have no interest in lobbies.   I've never collected stills but I'm starting to question why.

A couple other 6's I left off the list...

Monolith Monsters

Man who knew too much

maybe in the future i'm not stopping myself from bidding on these.

You folks are doin' me proud!  When I started advocating for six sheets 30 years ago, the "old timers" laughed.  They were giving away six sheets for very good titles.  Kirby started paying
better prices for sixes and Kirby started getting offers from people for good stuff!  So I have sold a lot of sixes through the years:  RIO GRANDE, A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS, A PLACE IN THE SUN, MEMPHIS BELLE, THE OLD DARK HOUSE, TOP HAT, THE GAY DIVORCEE, THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, FORBIDDEN PLANET, THE MAN FROM PLANET X, A STAR IS BORN, ALIAS THE DOCTOR, LAURA, LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, THE EGYPTIAN, GIGI, THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE.  The list goes on.  Today great titles do not appear with such regularity and at such great prices.  It's true that selling these was a challenge.  But I don't think that buying one today is regarded as "in the realm of 'crazy' anymore!

I love 6-sheets, especially those that have a unique design, different from the other formats.  The Creature from the Black Lagoon, Barbarella and The Outlaw posters are all fantastic!

Here are 6 of my favs in my collection, split over 2 posts because my attachments are too large for one post (sorry for the Strangler of the Swamp repeat, but I really like that one!).

This thread is for posting 6 sheets that members own, not just favorites found on the net. The Frankie 6sh has been discussed in other threads and because Steven Fischler isnt an APF member, is the reason it hasn't been posted here.

But how cool would it be, if he were to become an APF'er!

Amazing pieces, as usual, from your collection, Benjamin.

All 3 are killer and this one would certainly would make anyone do a  jawdrop double take!  notworthy.gif

Maybe delete Mel's Internet sourced images but leave the link to the collection of same images?

Here's some more I have which I haven't shown so far in this thread...

I decided to put my Revenge of the Creature 6-sheet on the wall again (I had it up on a different floor a while ago before taking it down to put something else in its place).  It's now on the top floor of my home, in the same room where my framed Horror of Dracula French 47X63 is located.  Since this 6-sheet poster is on linen with wide border margins, it's pretty easy to hang without having it framed.  Funny how it looks a little small on that big wall though!

Poster looks great and big Antoine. Wonder if it can be dropped a little to show the title a bit more, though is getting close to people's bodies. That is a tall room to fit it above a lounge. Awesome, thanks for sharing

I have sold an example of this before, once at auction and once as a private sale.  This is on our website.   I love this six sheet as the final scene of the film is clearly elicited from the poster design.  One of the great movies, of course.  Forgive if I have posted this before.  The thread has gotten long enough that I may not necessarily remember.  (It turns out that I had posted THE MEMPHIS BELLE earlier.)

Can I ask who did the backing work for you?

Some of this is beginning to look like poster tiling...  ;D

I also had the poster several times, "back in the day", whatever that means.  Believe it or not, there was a time when the conventional wisdom held that collectors would not touch a six sheet.  Wrong!  They did.  And MovieArt prospered because of that.  Many great titles had six sheets just lying around out there.  Six sheets we handled:  CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, CASABLANCA (God I wish I had held on to that one!),  ONLY ANGELS HAVE WINGS, SAINT JOAN, THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH, SHE DONE HIM WRONG, THUNDERBALL, VERTIGO, VIVA LAS VEGAS, YANKEE DOODLE DANDY, YELLOW SUBMARINE, PENNY SERENADE, AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, THE PRINCE AND THE SHOWGIRL, MY DARLING CLEMENTINE, THE SPIDER WOMAN STRIKES BACK, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, THE WILD BUNCH, YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, GOLDFINGER (only had this once, that is rare), GIANT, CLEOPATRA (1963), HITLER'S CHILDREN, CAMELOT (with Bob Peak art, not the more common one), THE KING AND I, all the Beatles titles, THE GHOST OF SLUMBER MOUNTAIN, AUNTIE MAME, THE QUIET MAN, BLUE HAWAII, and many, many more.

This burst of boasting is now concluded.  :)
