Title: December 2009
Post by: holiday on December 17, 2009, 10:27:56 PM
Here's one I picked up from Bruce recently.  It fits my advertising collection, but it goes just as well here in the movie poster section.  It's a folded onesheet that advertised an A-Ha music video preceding the feature film at the theater.  A great 80's band - remember Take Me On?!

I used to love them when I was a teenager...but if you asked me now, I can only remember a couple of their songs

Take on me, was surely their only hit, the clip at the time was great, and I admit still looks good. Daggy (non aussies google the word) as hell though.

That was a cool clip...the only other one I remeber was Hunting High and Low...but yes Take on me was the big hit.
Did they ever make a second album?

"Take on me...again?"

Seriously though...they have lots of albums and just came out with one in July 2009.

And no, I am not a fan...

Great!  You can add it to your Queen and Abba collections.

I'm with you Ves, I never would have guessed those guys were still making music.........kinda like They Might Be Giants.  I learned the other day that they are still around, much to my surprise.

I think Take on Me is a great song, and of course the original "story video" is fantastic. On Youtube, there is a "literal version", where the singer describes what everyone is actually doing, and it sounds like it is the actual singer from the original (it is one of many literal versions of many other songs).

The absolute BEST literal video out there is Total Eclipse of the Heart.  I was laughing for a good hour after that.
