I found this an interesting article for creating a 42" portrait oriented poster display screen. As we seem to be heading toward downloadable "soft" posters in the future, this could be an interesting way to display multiple images in a small space. Good for the home theater lobby.

Thats pretty awesome .. and seriously if I were him I'd try to sell that software to some theater chains! It is just another sign that paper posters will eventually be irrelevant. Maybe not anytime soon but it will happen.
Now I have to dig out my old 32" lcd and see if I can get this up and running in my theater room! :)

I was in the mall last week and I saw what looked like a movie poster and then the character started moving around. I got all excited and pulled out my camera but it then flipped through endless mall ads and I gave up...

They look terrible in portrait, you'd have to turn the T.V. on it's end.....This is where Quads come into the own... ;D

I actually installed this this past weekend on one of my HTPC's and just let it run on my TV.. It's actually pretty easy and has pretty good quality on the images it downloads (i was viewing the, on a 55" plasma). I have an old 32" TV that I was thinking about taking apart and using, my only thought is I would want to make it a single "all in one" unit. So id love to find a cheap thin client PC and somehow build it into the back of the frame/LCD assembly. I just let it pull images from its online sources, I haven't linked it to my XBMC or looked into making a custom list of posters. But with the low cost of LCD TV's 30-40" nowadays (doesnt have to be top of the line 1080p 3d ect.) this could be a really easy project at minimal cost.

Heres a little video I shot of this running on my 32" LCD. Forgive the "brightness issues" .. the darker or lighter the poster was caused the flash on the camera to go crazy.

You can see all of the pics I took of the build here;
