Come across another pile of video posters. Ahh, the good old days before the 1984 banning of certain films on video.
The Ebay seller (backlotbooks aka Sabin Gray) who sold one to me claimed he was a former Disney employee at Burbank who rescued them from the trash.
Now thats one sweet video poster!i agree
I have that TCM video poster and I love it!sweet! my copy has some edge wear some imperfections scattered throughout (as you can see) but i really enjoy it anyway.
Paid 60 for that TCM...tough cookie to find.
Looks fine from here Neo...
Anyone know anything about this... it was in the Video poster pile, but is not a Video poster!!?

Paul, where you finding all those posters?
I think some video posters are better than some theatrical ones, I actually would pay more for 'some' as they seem harder to find and the art is a lot different too.
Look at the New Nightmare posters, I would rather have the video poster for that one.

Ted, I think the Mag was called, Science & Fantasy film classics. It may have been issue 3, out of a run of 4....
Nice CLOWNHOUSE, Severen. An overlooked creeper, to say the least.
It is even more of a creeper when you realize that writer/director Victor Salva went to jail for molesting the adolescent boys in the cast. Ever notice how much time they spent running around in their underwear?
(there is one that has the best camel toe I have seen)
Nice CLOWNHOUSE, Severen. An overlooked creeper, to say the least.Yeah Brude, I've always thought this was a killler little horror movie. Sam Rockwell was great playing the douchbag older brother, you spend half the movie laughing at him. You could tell way back then that he was a talented actor.
Paul...those posters are awesome.

Ever notice how much time they spent running around in their underwear?Yeah its hard to watch the movie now and not think about the sick shit that was going on behind the scenes when the movie was being filmed. Very sad. I wonder if that is why you don't hear more about this movie, its almost like it was kind of swept under the rug.
Here's one from a sweet little horror film

"Anger, hostility towards the opposition"LOL Cj,
Nice.
Me too Severen, actually I still have my old shirt from when they toured off that album!Dude thats crazy I had the same shirt! Although I have no idea what happened to it now that you mention it.

Yes it is a UK video poster. Some great posters in this thread, it's great to see them finally getting some love. Glad you like The Lost Boys, always been a favourite of mine.
I may do! Actually it was the first poster I ever got, 20p from the local video shop...loved the car in that movie!

I was watching that one on Ebay. The dimensions of it are cool, never seen one like that before. Nice score.
Recently? I have had that one for a little over a year I think. I believe I actually got it from Ted. There have been one or 2 on ebay since then.
Ha, Yea Pieces.
Thanks! I have been trying to remember the name of this film for weeks, just one stuck in my head from the time I saw it on video in the 80's. I had thought it was the Corpse Grinders...but no, it was Pieces. There was a bit about going past a building site? Sticking boobs through a hole in the fence...it's either Pieces or a dream I had. Must go track it down...
how much?
Yep, nothing wrong with those knee caps
might aswell add this here then
My first video poster in about 20 years

Taking photos, getting the images back from processing, seeing great bods, but then further analysis seeing dirty feet, hairs out of place,... arrghhh, taught me to look at the whole package.
But your right I am a bit too critical...
BTW did you notice on the Casablance 6 sheet that Bogie is cross eyed?
i went up into the loft for a root around and found this beauty and a few others i will post soon

If the last decade, I wouldn't look at them for another myself.
But I'm sure you'll have some fun.
No, what I mean is I wouldn't open the tubes for a decade, I would have bought them I'm sure.
But I'd leave in my shed for a surprise for ten more years or so.
Well I guess I'd take a peek at a few.
Open the one with the black cap first :P
Imagine 3000 soul plane one sheets. How about Kazaam. It would be pretty shitty to find out the posters are all for crappy ass movies.
Ahh - well it's going to be like a treasure hunt with each tube, need a few days solid on it but should be fun!

Never failed to amaze me just how many American teenagers there are that can suddenly save their house, school, town, country or even the world because teh USA army/navy/airforce can't do the job - I bet that nutter in North Korea watches these movies and is thinking 'this is going to be too easy'
Totally agree with you there...I hate all those "only the kids can save us" movies... Well... with the exception of the Goonies....The Gooniesrockedrocks 8)
I have to say I love Video posters, that's where my love for the hobby started. Here are a few of mine:

Very sad news... I was a big fan of blockbuster finally closing both my mail service and location subscriptions only about 4 months ago after about 13 or 14 years of being a frequent visitor. The reason? They closed the one near my house. I wasn't going to drive across town when I could just order it on my TV now... I do hope that physical formats don't go away all together; I still like the feel and smell of a new DVD/Blu-Ray...I like having it in hand as well. I think in time everything movie related will be digital :-[ But I guess that is change and we all have to accept it for what it is. I do prefer to have a hard copy in hand though and if they do away with that it will suck.
Wow, really liking those Freddy and Evil Dead posters. Wished I had collected more video posters back in the day...thought they weren't as good as cinema but for the era I was wrongBruce has one of The Evil Dead video posters for sale.
I hope we've moved on to dvd, and blu-ray in this thread... eyeroll he hopes.
Heres one that I thought was cool. Printed on the holofoil like the Sin City B1. Schan :)
UNDERWORLD Size:50X72cm. JpB2
Hey Skyjackers! Have you seen this one in your perusing the posters on the internets?
I bought the silly thing. I specifically asked the seller beforehand if it was holofoil so I sure hope when it arrives that it is holofoil. Fingers crossed.
Totally forgot about this thread. Thanks for bringing it back to life, Schan. Some really good stuff there. I collect Struzan, and seeing your post last night reminded me of that Better Off Dead poster that I wanted years ago and completely forgot about. So I bought it. Thanks for making me spend money.

I can see there's a fair few Boris posters I still need to track down!
I think video posters are underrated. There's some crackers out there with unique artwork for straight-to-video titles in the US I'd love to find (Death Spa or Headless Eyes anyone?!) but here are a few of the ones I have collected (from the US, UK and Japan):
(https://i.postimg.cc/4KBdv0g3/Res-Dogs-video.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/4KBdv0g3)
Alternate artwork on this Risky Business UK video poster, with a unique tagline, the car a different color, etc.:

Another one from the UK that ended recently, with a slightly different tagline:

Pretty impressive price:

Interesting. I just checked my website for other variations, but this is a new one entirely. On the original, the head is from Carl Ramsey while the girl on the car is from Drew Struzan.
T
Insane price!!! I still like the quad better.
T
A hardcore Mad Max fan probably shelled out the (relatively) big bucks for it.
What I meant to say is that the price is really high for a poster in such a poor condition. It belongs in the trash, imo.
T
Up. That's where video posters are going
Yeah they're fun and many are exceedingly rare. So many different styles the video posters have compared to the theater releases, and many for movies that weren't released in theaters.
(https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53155308836_f51e9da949_z.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/2oZ9Rq1)
A simple, quality backing and an hour or 2 of touch-ups and it would be in excellent condition. Restored condition, of course; for most Mad Max fans, completists, etc. that would be OK. It's from before the film was even released, and extremely scarce, pre-certification, for such a popular film, etc.
Point taken. Yeah, you're right, I never think about linenbacking because it is something I dislike so much. I would have never bought this poster because it's in terrible shape and I don't linenback. But... to each his own. I know you did not buy it so you don't have any eggs in that basket.
Why do you say that it's before the film was even released? Wasn't it released theatrically in Australia in '79, then in the UK and around the world and on home video a few years later?

Here's one I never thought I would get, but happily did. Argentinean video release poster for Halloween
Yeah, nice one Matias. What's the green skull snipe/sticker in the top right?
