At first I joined MPF and APF at the same time,but noticed all the action was happening here so I stayed.
In two years I think have logged into MPF twice.
I then joined NS4 whilst reading about it here,but sadly have not spent as much time as I should have there.

I was over at MPF for nearly two years before APF started. I stopped posting for a bit over the holidays (end of 2009) and when I came back I had just acquired a really obscure 1910s Italian poster that I had some questions about. I posted over at MPF and got nothing but crickets. Then I got a PM from none other than "Douchebag" Cochran, inviting me over to APF saying I might get a better response there...
I decided to do a test. I would post my questions on both forums and see which got more responses and better answers:

I was on CHFB, but apart from that never really bothered with Forums. Until One day I was looking for some prices of posters and this place came up, so I thought I would join. It was so good I joined Mopo and MPF a few days later... I think I've about 28 posts on MPF in coming up 3 years, which just goes to show how good this place is. I though the others would be good also, but I was Sooo wrong...
This place has some great Members, and is run by two Jollyfine fellows, and long may they do so.

I'm a member on MPF and recently found this forum while searching for some new titles to add to the collection. Glad to be back in the hobby and even more so to see old friends that enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks Holiday for the welcome ;) I still owe you a few advertisement posters once I get back stateside

As a FEMALE member I can confirm that the above description is inaccurate. I just checked for the body part in question and I can categorically confirm that it is not there. All is well and in order. So, inaccurate.

Perhaps I should explain......in case anyone cares to know...Angry? Yes. It is personal. He borrowed my father's proyector. Very similar to that one in the pic. Dad was happy to lend it to him but he never returned it. So I am very upset :'( i spend my hours in ebay trying to find the same one for dad so he can stop thinking about it and all can move on. I am very dissapointed. I am angry. Yes. It is personal. If you read this, could you please bring it back? It might be an old rubbish proyector to you. But not to me... :'(

I was getting ready to purchase a rolled RotLA after being away from the hobby for a little while and was scouring the interwebs for info on authentication and the seller. My search led me here and also to Mel's site (and also led me to discover that all of Dan R's info was gone :'( ). My wife's not really into the whole poster thing, so it's great to have others like yourselves to chat with and learn from. thumbup

I never saw this thread... so better late than never.
To be honest, I dont recall exactly how I found it, but I think I may have seen mention of the new forum on either NSF or MPF. From there, it was simple a hop, skip and a jump.
And in the last 3 years since the last posts, it's still a great question to all those who have joined since then.

I was with a hooker over at Madame Changs up in Pahrump. I went there to deliver some movie posters and stayed to play Parchesi for an afternoon. When the hooker left, instead of putting a hundred on the dresser, she left a flyer for APF. I wish she would have left the hundred instead......

I found APF while searching for movie poster discussion groups. I read the open post portion for a few months that shows up online to the public until I couldn't stand it any longer. You guys and gals made me want to participate, too! This is the only social media group of which I am a member. I just wish this old dog would have known about APF sooner. I read through all of this thread and it looks like the old code word was "penis" until Mirosae set everyone straight, um, that may not be the best word choice. I miss her clever posts and it looks like she was gone before I even got here! Okie
