Title: How long does it take you to package a poster?
Post by: Stefano on November 23, 2021, 04:30:36 AM
We all know how important it is to package posters properly for shipping.  But how long should it take to get the job done right?

I confess it has taken me up to an hour to package a large folded poster, especially when I had to cut several layers of cardboard to the appropriate size.  Rolled posters are usually much quicker, as no cutting is involved.  I'd guess 15 minutes is typical for rolled posters.  And with large, robust photo-mailers, lobby cards can be even quicker.  Although sometimes my OCD gets the best of my, and I end up spending way more time than I want.  Am I taking too long?

How long does it take you to package various poster sizes?  What's the longest time you ever spent trying to get the packaging just right?  Do any of the novice sellers out there factor packaging time into your pricing scheme?

This is aimed mostly at the casual seller who doesn't have a devoted packaging facility or team of employees helping out, but I'd also welcome any dealers who want to share perspectives.

I don't mail them often, Stefano, though your times sound similar to my experience.  Okie
