Hi dear forum members
Thank you for accepting me here
I am based in France (Paris) and it may sound a bit weird but I am not a true poster's fan :-X
I am rather looking about original paintings or artworks that had been used to create a movie poster :)
I recently came accross a documentary and short videos about people making handpainted illustrations for movie theatre (or used to do it).
I would like to know if there is any member here that have already made any contact with those kind of artists ?
thank you

I personally do not collect original art (only movie posters, and that's plenty ;), but I know some people on the forum do. Matt (Harry Caul on the forum) comes to mind. Prob others.

Thanks eatbrie
That sounds interesting.
However, I undersood that most of original painted posters were destroyed because the process of replication.
That said, I don't know very well that process in fact.
Some original could be find because they were refused by the movie production to be printed and displayed.

There is a chap in Germany, Thomas Nixdorf, who collects original art for the James Bond posters. He has a Facebook page dedicated to such.
And I think there is a chap on these forums who collects Tom Chantrell original art.

Hello Monster_A_GoGo,
Thanks for your welcome !
Just for fun, forum members could have a look at Ya Sukhowattanakij 's facebook page, from Thailand.

But I understand, it's not in the right purpose of that forum.
